as much as i like the sabres, i really hope not to see 7-6 games anymore in the playoffs...although i know bettman probably was wetting himself the entire game
Devils got their asses handed to them by Carolina today, 6-0..ouch!
Looks like the Canes have found their stride again, I can see them taking NJ out if Cam Ward keeps playing well. As for Ott-Buf that was such a crazy game, Im surprised Muckler didnt have a coronary up in the private box. I had a feeling that Emery or Miller would finally come apart at some point, I just didn't think at the same time.
But its only one game, and looks like it will be a wild series. As for me Im going to jump on the Oilers bandwagon, I like the team they have and my brother lives there and it will give him a reason to party (like he needed one)

Had it been Detroit against the Rangers and it was Game 7 and this happened, perhaps Bettman would have been wetting himself. But since it was two small market teams, well, who really would have noticed outside of people in Buffalo and Canada?
I do find it funny that you guys who don't like the up-tempo NHL blame Bettman, rather than the guys like Mario, Hull, Kariya, and other players who complained for years about the "old" NHL. Hell, it was Shanahan - of all players - who held his own little summit to try and come up with ways to get skill back into the game and get goal scoring up.
That being said, I don't think this game was a result of the supposed "new" NHL, I think it was a function of two teams that played really, really poor defensively. The OT goal had nothing to do with the "new" rules, it was just a bad turnover. The goal that Buffalo scored to make it 5-5 was a bad turnover (on a PP no less), Smolinski's goal to make it 6-5 was scored on a PP, and the goal Buffalo scored to make it 6-6 was a result of Emery doing his best impersonation of Allan Bester.
What's the deal with Hasek? What is it now, THREE MONTHS for an injury that was supposed to keep him out for a couple of weeks? I knew Satan would come to collect sooner or later (and I'm not talking Miroslav). Too bad for Sens fans. All three of you.
How could anyone not love a 7-6 overtime game. 8-2, 10-1 that's boring. Fridays game was insane. Sloppy as hell but great to watch. Even if the Sabres did lose in OT it was still great the way the kept fighting back. I don't see the Sens losing toight but I hope so cuz I have seats for game 4 and a sweep would be sweet. I see it going to 7 games though.
And what's up w/ Anahiem.......damn.
Sens need to up their defense and goal tending tonight. They can beat the Sabres this series but they def need to be on top of their game every time to do so. I have a feeling it is going to be an extremely close 7 game series.
GO SENS GO!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
GO SUNS GO! GO SUNS GO!

Actually, I blame those players and every owner that wanted rule changes also. The players wanted the game to open up so the players have no right to complain about all the penalties as far as I'm concerned. I complain about the high number of penalties because I'm a fan and it's my right

but the players just got what they wanted. Be careful what you wish for I guess if you're an NHL player.
Wow, the Sens down 2-0 heading to Buffalo. I'm not liking their chances.
That's a damn shame. Sens "fans" deserve better. Errrr, nevermind.
HOLY SHIT! CAROLINA TIED IT WITH 3 SECONDS LEFT! INSANE!
then won it in OT! GO CANES GO

This team looks just as sharp as back in 2002 when they went all the way to the finals...replace Ron Francis with Rod Brindamour and VOILA you have Eastern Conference Champions.
the canadian teams aren't doing too well this round, i hope one of them pick it up
watching hnic the last 2 oiler games and i wish someone would shoot greg millen
game 1 - 18:00 left in the third-2-1 sharks-- millen- "with 1 more goal, the sharks will put the nail in the coffin tonight"
game 2- 6:00 left in the third- 2-1 sharks-- millen-"the oilers are only 1 shot away!"
