The Canucks will make the playoffs but I wouldn't be shocked to see them as a #7 or #8 seed.
WOOOO!!!!
Habs win again, Leafs lose again!!
The season is not over yet, but I hope we can hold on to that last playoff spot, keep it up boys!

Flames win again! 2-0 over San Jose. Kipper was un-f**kin-real tonight. He makes it look so easy. Nice goal by Iggy on the breakaway too.
i wonder if the oilers are still interested in cujo? 7 goals on 27 shots? yikes

Shhhhhhhhhhh! Don't let the HNIC Myth of Cujo (outstanding clutch goaltender) get in the way of what he really is (average, shits the bed in big games).

Too bad for Cole. He was having a great season. I wanted to see Vancouver make a pitch for him but Nonis thought the roster was fine.

cratch:
Vancouver just lost 4-1 to the Blues. I believe that's four straight losses to the juggernaut contenders from St Louis.

Man, what a frustrating game tonight. The Preds really have the Flames' number this year, and it's incredibly frustrating. We played really well, but once again we just can't beat Vokoun. And that no-goal in the 2nd period really took the wind out of our sails. The prospect of having to face Nashville in the playoffs scares the sh*t out of me. The only other team in the West that scares me more is Dallas, who also has our number this year. And wouldn't ya know it, we play them on Thursday. After that we have a back-to-back with Colorado, and then we play Edmonton and Nashville on the road. Yikes! Gotta love the stretch drive.
GO FLAMES GO!!!
HIP-HIP HUET!! HIP-HIP HUET!!!!!!!!
Back to back shutouts, this guy is playing great for us. If we hold on to that last playoff spot, it will be because of this guy.
On a sadder note, Boom-Boom Geoffrion died today, it was a nice ceremony before the game. Father of the slapshot and a great player. His jersey deserved to be retired, amazingly next to his father-in-law Morenz. Even stranger they both died on the same day, hard to believe that.
RIP Boomer.

Damn Huet! What a goaltending matchup that was though, both Huet & Lundqvist were unbeleivable. If it wasn't for Lundqvist, especially while the Rangers were short handed in the 3rd, the Rangers wouldn't even of had a chance. They came out flat yet again, but came on strong in the 3rd (this has become a post-Olympic trend...badly outplayed by Carolina in the early going the other night, ended up outshooting them 17-0 in the 3rd) but just couldn't solve Huet. Petr Sykora had a chance to tie it up late on a nice feed from Jagr, but Sykora missed the net. I don't think there's anything more frustrating though than having to watch your team lose 1-0 or 2-1, despite having all kinds of chances to tie it up, but simply being unable to solve a hot goaltender.
The Rangers are just 1-3-1 since the break and haven't played well at all. They play the Thrashers tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully they can get a win & get back on track...helping your Canadiens in the process

And there are 29 other teams out there that would love to have Eric Cole on their team...but even if Nonis & the Canucks would of liked to have the guy, he's not going anywhere. He loves Carolina, is a very, very important player for them both now & for the future, and the fans seem to have a love affair with him.
Too bad he got hurt, he was having a terrific season & actually had 2 goals already in that game before he was injured. And i know all too well about losing hockey pool players to injury...
*Ziggy Palffy- retired
*Tuomo Ruutu- severed ankle, out for season, played just 9 games
*Ladislav Nagy- knee, out for season
Plus I have Pavol Demitra hurt right now, he took a puck to the face while sitting on the bench at the Olympics. Before that he had also missed 10 games. Jeremy Roenick, Milan Hejduk, and Petr Nedved have also all missed considerable time for me. It's amazing really that i'm still in 3rd place, just 3 points back of 2nd. My damn brother-in-law Mike is running away with it though, he's 744 points to our 692/689.
i'm about ready to kick the shit out of greg millen..if he calls the sedins "sundin' one more time...ARRRGGGGGGHHHHHH
i still stand by my earlier post that the canucks will not make the playoffs
There spot is anything but safe, they are only 4 points up on 9th place Anaheim, and Anaheim have 3 games in hand. San Jose sit 7 points back, but also have 3 games in hand.
Personally i think the Canucks will make the playoffs though.
