Will this be another example of the Sens dominating the Leafs in the regular season, while the Leafs beat the Sens when it counts, in the playoffs?
Yes, I know I'm reaching here... but have a heart, don't crush a guy's dreams during the Christmas season!
Boy, I hope so. And the way the Leafs have been playing over the past couple of weeks it looks like if they make the playoffs they'll face the Sens in the first round. Gulp! I can't bear the thought of Stephen Dame's Leaf bashing poetry for a full offseason.
So, do you think Doug MacLean is glad he traded for Fedorov (14 GP, 6 PTS, -4, $6.1 million) rather than Jason Allison (32 GP, 30 PTS, -4, $4.5 million)? Man, I can't believe he's still a GM. He and Milbury must have pictures of Bettman doing something inappropriate. There is no other explanation.
Doug Maclean is a lucky man. He has been riding that Cup run in 95 with the Panthers for too long now. I really do think Maclean may have pictures of Bettman. Like you say, there is NO OTHER EXPLANATION.
Of course this happens in every sport. Matt Millen should have been fired last season, the entire Bills' coaching staff and their GM have no business running a football team, the Atlanta Hawks made fools of themselves in the entire Joe Johnson fiasco (and ineptitude since Dominique left), the LA Dodgers have a GM who has signed bust after bust and thinks Garciaparra will take the team to the promised land.......
Then there's Pat Quinn playing Reichel, Hoglund, Berg, Antropov, Kopahawsky, etc.....with no apparent reason other than to keep better players off the ice.

What's a Kopahawsky?
Just kidding, tiger, I know what you're saying... as much as I like Quinn in general, his choices with some of the players on the Leafs have been inexplicable. I'd only say Ponikarovsky actually has looked decent, and this year he's looked pretty good for much of the last couple months. And that's because he's been on a line with... ta da! Jason Allison. Probably no coincidence, is it cfern?
I don't even know who the coach is in Columbus... is it Maclean doing that job and the GM job equally horribly or is it somebody else? Regardless, you need a real coach to get Federov to perform. It took the best coach ever, Scotty Bowman, to get Federov to be a great player in the Red Wings' Stanley Cup days. Is Maclean in Bowman's league? I don't fuckin' think so!

Doug's buddy Gerard Gallant is the coach in Columbus. It's a PEI thing. :thumb:
Solid 53 save night for my fantasy goalie! Nice :thumb:
Jason Allison contract is at 1.5 million dollars and if he meets all his incentives it will push him to 4.5 million dollars.

At the rate he is currently playing, the incentives - which are based on games played and points - will be easily met.
Larry Robinson resigns as the coash of the Devils
Quote:Larry Robinson resigned as coach of the New Jersey Devils on Monday, two days after his team lost for the seventh time in the last nine games.
Robinson coached the Devils to a Stanley Cup title in 2000 but was fired less than two years later. Robinson, a former star with the Montreal Canadiens in the 1970s and '80s, returned in July as coach, replacing Pat Burns, who had been diagnosed with cancer.
New Jersey is 14-13-5 and fourth in the Atlantic Division.
There's no immediate word on a replacement or why he decided to resign.
The Newark Star-Ledger reported that team president and general manager Lou Lamoriello led the team at practice Monday morning.
Earlier this season Robinson questioned his club's character and Saturday he benched stars Alexander Mogilny and Scott Gomez for much of a 4-1 loss to Carolina, his most recent game behind the bench.
poor larry, cant stay it's fault really, they lost their two best defensemen and im feeling a little un-easy about Brodeur heading toward the olympics
Too bad for Larry... but he's right when he said that no job is worth sacrificing your health for it.
oh by the way , sabres win AGAIN, this time against the flyers in philly, thats 9 in a row on the road at 15-1-1 in their last 17. God damn this team is good. The goalie contrevesy is brewing though.
