He might have a better veteran presence than T-Bo, but veteran presence doesn't stop the puck. And neither does Cujo.
Here's what I want to know...how many Pens fans live in Ottawa?!? When I was watching the highlights the cheering sounded louder for the Pens' goals than for the Sens' goals.

I have a feeling a lot of them became Pens fans as soon as they found out which team drafted Crosby.
to be honest i'd rather have fleury in net than joseph. but i'd take belfour anyday, he's been my favourite goalie since i was a little one. but look at cam ward, rookie goaltender last season and came up big in the playoffs, if he can do it, so can Marc-Andre.

Fleury isn't a rookie...
i know he isn't but he's a young goalie who is capable of doing what cam ward did one year ago.
Can ANYBODY stop Cowan? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
vicious cheap shot by chris simon tonight, he should be suspended for the rest of the year.

Kick him out of the league: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLmon0XoH3I

Just seeing it now...that's horrendous. And who said there was no place for the enforcer in today's NHL?
Brutal.
No doubt on that one.
But of course, the league has already set the precedent on that one this year: it's worth a mere three games.
I think it's safe to say Chris Simon is getting A LOT more than 3 games for that one! I'll be surprised if he isn't suspended for the rest of the season.
The funny thing is, Deb interviewed Chris Simon during the 1st intermission, and she asked him about how to handle Sean Avery (Avery drew 3 penalties in the game), and Simon told her they have to be more disciplined & you can't retaliate and hurt your team by taking penalities.
I've always liked Simon & he was a very popular player while he played for the Rangers, but that was just plain stupid on his part. Even if the Hollweg's hit was dirty (which i didn't think it was at all), you still don't go & do something like that. Oh well, the Rangers won't complain, the game was tied 1-1 with 6 minutes left, and we got a 5 minute powerplay! As Hollweg said, the best revenge was having Jagr & Nylander set up Petr Prucha for the game winning PPG.
Does anyone think that the Islanders shot went in with 20 seconds left the in 3rd? It was a lengthy review, and I was watching the Islanders feed, and their announcers were convinced the puck went over the line & were saying that it should definitely count, but in the end it was ruled no goal. I'm still not really sure, that one angle the Isles guys had & kept show definitely looked like it was a goal.
With this league, nothing would suprise me.
It wasn't dirty, he had his head down
That was bad. Real bad. I'm suprised nobody jump over the boards on that one. If the leauge doesn't step in on this one and keep him out till next year it will be a joke.
There was some rough stuff afterwards, but yeah, you can bet that had it not been a 1-1 game with 6 minutes left in the 3rd & the Rangers knowing they were going on a 5 minute PP (with a playoff spot potentially on the line)...well i think it's safe to say it would of got nasty

It looked to me like he took an accidental high stick on that hit, which would account for him losing his temper and doing something so stupid and malicious. Not that I'm excusing him, I'm just saying I think that's what happened.
Re three games, that's what the league gave Emery for a deliberate slash to Maxim Lapierre's face, so like I said, the league has set their precedent. But I'm betting they won't be consistently lenient on using the stick as a weapon.
McSorley got more than three games....
