Well when you try to take on a registered boxer with lots of padding...you probably are going to get the snot beat out of you. The hit was clean, and it definitely wasn't late. Unless 200 milliseconds is the new criteria for 'late'. You should have heard the announcers go haywire on Sens Radio when Ruff sent out the goon line against Spezza, it was hilarious. I can see how Ruff might be frustrated, but I don't think it was a stupid move just because Spezza is a pussy. It was stupid because Buffalo already had the momentum after Vanek's 2nd goal, and the fight completely reversed that and gave the momentum to Ottawa.
Definitely an entertaining game. Ottawa is the better team, and Buffalo is coming across as the Sens team of last year. Exit in the 2nd round anyone?

OH my F%^*ing GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How in the world is Ottawa the better team????
Buffalo has 8 starters out. Buffalo-native Kaleta gets an assist on MacArthur's first NHL goal.
Oh yea and Buffalo won the game.
Buffalo is nothing like last years Sens. Last years Sens are the same Sens of the last 10 years. Same story, same book. Ask any Leafs fan.
Sens are playoff chokers.
The Sabres have heart and you don't get heart from a pansie like Spezza and a murder like Heatley. The only smart move the Sens made was getting rid of the oaf, Charrabaka.
HOW CAN YOU SAY THE SENS ARE BETTER THAN THE BUFFALO SABRES WHEN THEY WERE NOT BETTER THAN THE ROCHESTER AMERICANS, LAST NIGHT???????????????????

Plus, Emery fears the Sabres snipers in close games, he just crumbles. Look out here comes Pomminville, short-handed in OT to end the series!
If you want a real litmus test, who has more points in the season series? 'Nuff said. And I think calling Heatley a murderer is a little uncalled for.
No matter how tough Emery is, the entire Senators team should be embarrassed for not comin' to his defence when Peters tangled with him. No wonder they don't go anywhere come playoff time.. heartless and gutless IMO.

Uh, Briere? Derek "Two Minutes For Diving" Roy? Perimeter Afinegenov?
I think Buffalo is all topped up on their pansie quota too.
Good God......am I
defending the Sens?
Pretty close series this season:
Ottawa with a slight 4-3 lead, 6 points vs 9 points. We both play the same teams in the same locations. Buffalo 87 points, Sens 74
People's actions define their character and everyone should be held responsible for their actions. It has a lot to do with character and heart (the point I was making). Also, money buys good lawyers, so some people don't have to be accountable for their actions (another sign of poor character).
Im on the fence about the hit on Drury. I was at the game...row 1 behind the scorers table between the penalty boxes. Def. a great place to see all the action last night. Looked like a shoulder to the head as Neil hit Drury a touch late. So Lindy sends out his boys to send a message. I think the message was delivered pretty effectively. Run our best player and you will have your skilled players run. This is hockey and thats how its been done for a long time. I dont know why everyone has their panties in a bunch about Lindy sending his tough guys out there. Deal with it.
Bottom Line is that the Sens lost to a team that was chock full of AHL players last night. Mike Ryan, Clark MacArthur , Pat Kaleta and Drew Stafford were all instrumental in the win. Someone try to explain to me how that makes Ottawa the better team?

thats always the excuse eh  after the Sabres bowed out of the playoffs last year thats all the Sabres fans on here kept whining about, wah wah wah we have a bunch of injuries, its part of hockey.
As for Ruff, that was the cheapest thing I've ever seen a coach do. The hit was not late at all. Someone made the point that if this had happened 30 years ago the same thing would have happened. That would never have happened, what would have happened is someone would have fought Neil one on one. I like how all the Sabres fans on here are calling the Sens a bunch of cowards when the Sabres are the real cowards because they tried to fight a bunch of guys who are clearly non-fighters. What do you excpect Spezza to do when a goon comes running after him who he knows can clearly beat him up? And when the only guy for the Sens who was on the ice who could fight actually fought, he not only won the first fight he was in but definately held his own against Peters, there's no way Emery got his ass kicked by Peters as all the Sabres fans are claiming on here
Hopefully Ruff will be suspended and fined for his bush league tactics.
p.s. Gotta give props to Biron for challenging Emery. Also did anyone agree with what Bertuzzi did to Moore? cause this was basically the same situation except no one broke their neck this time.

Emery didnt even come close to hitting Peters once. I think Ruff should be applauded for not laughing out loud while Bryan Murray was sufferin succotashin' his way through a spit filled rant over the bench. Honestly who can take that guy serious when he sounds like that?

People who aren't jackasses about speech impediments, for one.

No kidding eh? I also love when Connolly is always counted as an injured guy. He hasn't played a frickin' game all season! So how are they missing him?!?
sounds like i missed a good one...oh well, all that matters to me is that the habs get their asses in gear and keep it there til somebody loses an eye...

Yeah, a comeback road win against Nashville was pretty impressive. And the first line seems to be back on track, along with Samsonov scoring last night. I want them to make the playoffs so I can see a game here in Mtl :jump
