That was a choke, not a 41 year type choke but a choke nonetheless.
Too many mistakes, those 2 giveaways in our own zone by Markov and Huet lost it for us. Its still very early, but I think its going to be a long year in Hab-land if we play defence like that.

Although I'm not ready to dance a jig I am feeling slightly more optimistic seeing the way that Toskala is able to make the big save when it counts. That was some great goaltending tonight.

Brisebois looked great in the overtime period :roll: glad the Habs brought him back. The way he kept the puck in the Leafs zone during the powerplay was amazing. It almost looked like the Habs were just trying to kill time until the shootout during that powerplay the way they were passing it around to each other.

My beloved Flames have a history of piss-poor Octobers to start the season, and just like clockwork they're doing it again. (sigh) F**k this team is frustrating.

That is more than a pounding...that's being pulverised. Not to mention that 7 different Carolina players scored, which means that Toronto had trouble with the WHOLE team, and not just say, one line that dominated them.
Weak penalty kill too.

The Leafs just aren't very talented on defense. Of the six defensemen dressed last night, not one can play consistently in their own end. Kaberle used to be solid, but he's off to a shaky start this year. And even if he returns to form, one out of six just doesn't cut it.

Anyone else see in the 3rd period when McCabe decided to take the puck around behind his own net and proceeded to crash into the net, fall over, and throw the puck out into the slot? It was the type of high-quality play you expect from a $6 million/year defenseman :roll:

Cause I'm NOT a fan! I'm a Montreal fan, so I love bashing the Leafs...it seems pretty reasonable to me. :wink:

Nice debut by Price last nite, he looked sharp, hopefully its the start of something special..time will tell, but I think he has the makings of a solid no.1 goalie. Im just happy we got the win, our D still looks very suspect, I think they need to get on the same page.

And how bout that Crosby, everytime I watch this kid play he does something special, he might or might not break some of Gretzky's records, but I think he is the next "Great One", he's that good. Tavares might give him a run in a few years, whomever lands that kid is going to be real lucky.

Something to look forward to in the years ahead anyway, this is the next generation of superstars, once Sakic and a few others pack it in.

I'm not sure what it is about Taveres but he just doesn't do it for me. He's an awkward skater and something about him just rubs me the wrong way.

Then again, I'm not a pro scout.
