Unstoppable? The Ducks are the best team in the NHL and would defeat the Sabres. However, the Ducks nor the Sabres are unbeatable.
good effort by the habs tonight, Samsanov broke his 20 game slump and potted a pair, Gui got another, and Markov scored his first in what seemed like ages...

:thumb:

*edit* oh and i almost forgot, Lapierre got his first NHL point in only his second NHL game.
Flames win again!!! Our #1 line ended up with 9 points tonight (Iggy with 4), and the boys established a new Calgary Flames record with 10 straight wins at home. I love it! I'm a little nervous about their upcoming 6 game road trip. They're playing extremely well right now, but their road record has been pretty awful this season, and they have to find a way to improve that. Getting Stephane Yelle back will definitely help. Our PK is horrible without him.

GO FLAMES!!!
nice game by crosby tonight with 6 pts. i think he is the best player in the world already at only 19. every game i watch, he makes me do a couple of these Confusedhock: . his drive is unmatched
is he not the point leader in the NHL now?
sure is Big Grin
47 points in just 27 games...which over a 82 game schedule would put the kid on pace for almost 150 points, at just 19 years of age!! Jeez i don't know, maybe Gretzky knew what he was talking about when he said Sid will break some of his records.

Here's something to chew on about Crosby.

In the year that Gretzky went from 18 years old to 19 (1979/1980) he scored 137 points in 79 games. That year in the NHL the typical team scored 3.51 goals a game.

Crosby has missed 3 games, but is on pace for 137 points, while the typical team scores 2.95 goals a game.

So goal scoring is down 16% from that year, yet Crosby is in line to match Gretzky's numbers.

That's friggin crazy.

He said the same thing about Lindros! I think he just says things like that to jinx them.

Although Crosby does appear to be the real deal..
can't wait til he becomes a free-agent and lives out his life-long dream of wearing the tri-colour .
.... now that would bring the cup back home...

and we came so close to drafting him too (Habs were in the final 5 teams in the draw). I remember watching the thing live, at the edge of my seat...
speaking of Sid...

Habs vs. Pens on Saturday!

Habs were lucky to pick up the W tonight against the Lightning, they took a ton of penalties, got outplayed for a better part of the game, but thanks to the "Crystal Wall" (and Cpt. Koivu), they prevailed.

Lapierre scored his first NHL goal, and Striet got one too.

this is what i like about the Habs, there's seemingly an unlikely hero (or two) night in night out...

I'm in Anaheim California right now in the middle of a 2 week training course and my roomate who is from Calgary is best friends with Rhett Warriner and we are going to the Flames game here on Monday and we'll be lighting up Orange County on Saturday night with the some of the other boys from the team. I think I'll hang around Dion and just collect his "cast off's"

Me and my roomate are the only two Canucks here in a training group of 27 guys, so needless to say we've taken some good ol'fashioned ribbing from these Yanks, now I'm looking forward to introducing them to the best sport out there...the Flames and Ducks should be a great game for them to watch...I can't wait
Just in case anybody missed it, Canucks 3 Flames 1. Chew on that Calgary! Big Grin Big Grin Tongue Tongue :thumb: :thumb:

indeed..and here's why i HATE the CBC and the Leafs...

Canada's team

The CBC's Hockey Night in Canada will carry Saturday's New York Rangers-Toronto Maple Leafs game in most English-language markets, but why?

Hockey Night certainly has better options: the Pittsburgh Penguins, with red-hot Sidney Crosby, are playing the Montreal Canadiens; and the Buffalo Sabres are in Ottawa against the Senators.

The Pens-Habs game will be seen in Quebec and Atlantic Canada, and Sabres-Sens will be limited to Ottawa, while Rangers-Leafs will get distribution in Ontario and regions West.

The Leafs won a game this week, but they're a weak team and their telecasts should no longer automatically qualify for national distribution.

Joel Darling, the executive producer of Hockey Night, says the Leafs take priority because they are the leading audience producer among the six Canadian NHL teams. He didn't rule out dropping the Leaf game in markets outside Ontario, if the Rangers build a large lead, and picking up the Montreal game.
