Reading that back, maybe that wasn't the best word selection lol
Yeah Game 5 was hard to watch, the Rangers were completely flat out of the gate & played one of their worst games in a while. They'll have to be much, much better today...they can't go back to Washington for a Game 7. 30 minutes until puck drop

haha, sorry couldnt help myself there.
Momentum is huge in the playoffs, the Rangers need to get some back or they might die a quick death. Lundqvist needs to be huge today.
Go whoever!!
Wow, i really hope they can find a way to win game 7...but with that said, the Rangers don't deserve to win this series. I've never seen a series as one sided as this one go 7 games. If it was for Henrik stealing 2 or 3 games earlier, this is a 4 game sweep.
could make for a great 2nd rd series with wash-pit if wash wins the 7th game....i`m pulling for the blueshirts though
I know there's no crying in baseball, but is there biting in hockey?
Apparently so...
I'm glad to see the NHL come down fairly hard on Donald Brashear today. The hit on Blair Betts was just completely unnecessary, it was just a dump in by Betts from the neatrual zone, there's nothing to be gained by Brashear in that situation. Betts broke his orbital bone & was concussed on the play...he doesn't play huge minutes or put up big numbers, but he's a pretty important player for the Rangers. Betts is their best face-off man, best penalty killer, and probably best shot blocker.
Well i think i'll go watch some of tonights games. I need the Sharks to come back & beat the Ducks or else i'll be screwed in all 3 of my hockey pools, so hopefully Thornton & co. can come up with another big effort tonight. I hope the Flames win tonight as well to make it 4 game 7's...but it doesn't really matter to me either way who wins that series. In one way i'd like to see the Flames with them being a Canadian club and all, but i think Hawks fans are long overdue for a playoff series win.

Way to send a message NHL, I'm glad to see a big suspension (for once) but you know they're only doing this cause it's Donald Brashear, a guy who plays minimal minutes. If this was Ovechkin, or Semin or Green, or just about anyone else I wouldn't even expect a small fine.
Also, good riddance Calgary, and hopefully Mike Keenan. May no other team ever take a chance on this jackass ever again.
Morrisson BITES Dubinsky in a scrum, and Dubi gets a game misconduct for reacting poorly to the ref. Morrison thus far gets nothing.
Damn - what a finish to the NJ-Car game.
Carolina 2 goals in the last 45 seconds to win game 7.
And damn Rangers, one shot in the third of a game 7. Ouch.
two great games tonight - fun to watch when you really don't care who wins :thumb:
car-nj was insane....thought the pens had the bruins and then the devs choked hard.....bring on the crapitals! gonna be a hell of a series
The outcome of tonights game was heartbreaking, the Rangers played so well & deserved to win it. That said, the Caps were by far the better team in the series & they deserve to move on to face the Pens.
What a game to watch though, very entertaining! Although either goaltender faced a whole lot of shots, both had to come up with some HUGE saves to keep there teams in it. The building was LOUD!!
I just caught bits of the NJ/CAR game during the intermissions of the Rangers game, and then seen the entire 3rd period, what a finish is right! I had pretty much written the Canes off, and then Jokinen ties it up with about 80 seconds to go...and then i was shocked (who wasn't!) when Staal put the 'Canes up 4-3 with 30 seconds to go. That had to of been a devasting loss for both the Devils & their fans.
I can't wait for the Pens/Caps series, it should be a dandy! I hope Crosby has a huge series & the Pens come out on top!
Well, Calgary's out so I'm fairly content. Now I just need Chicago to beat the Canucks and Detroit to drop Anaheim, and all of the teams I don't want to win will be eliminated. As for who I want to win, well, I guess I'll go with Detroit because I can see Joe Louis from my patio. I'd be content with Chicago or Boston, too.

Sure the Rangers looked good for two periods, but unfortunately for them hockey games aren't two periods long. With the game tied and their season on the line they fell apart. Getting outshot 13-1 in third isn't exactly what I'd call deserving to win...
