I don't understand why a national anthem is sung at sporting events anyway but I guess that's a whole other issue.
Alfie is becoming legendary for his playoff performances, and it didn't help that Heatley the traitor played like crap also. The Sens are already legendary as a team for their playoff failures. How many times can you have 100+ point seasons as a team and not even make it to the Finals? I mean, maybe we should be all applauding the Sens because it must be difficult to lose so much in the playoffs as favourites.
Joe Thornton is the an Alfie clone in that he, once again, is pulling a playoff disappearing act. I loved how Thornton wasn't scoring and the announcers were still uttering words like "dominating" and "can't be stopped".  Now that the Sharks are on the verge of leaving, these people are finally coming to their senses and realizing that Thornton is underperforming and there's a reason why he wasn't idolized in Boston. PLAYOFF CAREER: 45 games 8 goals 19 assists and a -12.
tiger - out of curiousity, why do you call Heatley a "traitor"?
You gotta figure Sens fans hope that the Sens are just emulating the Detroit Red Wings. They had seasons of 98, 103, 100, 70 (lockout season), and 131 points from '92 to '96 before they finally won the Cup in '97. Hell, I remember in those days people were questioning if Yzerman had what it took to win, and there were plenty of rumours that he was going to be dealt to Ottawa in those days. The funny thing is that the coach of two of those disappointing teams was Bryan Murray.
As for Thornton, yeah, you're right. I was always willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in Boston because - well, it was the Bruins. But with the Sharks he's got a decent #2 centre behind him in Marleau, yet he's still not getting the job done.
From this point on Im officially electric, go Oilers!
Party on Garth...

It's about the history. Look at all the awesome players who wore the classic yellow and blue Sabres jersey....and I'm not even a Sabres fan...I hope Carolina beats them. It's like NY Islanders when they switched to a fisherman....then switched back to the classic NY jersey....history. Buffalo shouldn't be like Vancouver, who switch their jerseys every 5 - 10 years or so.
it's about not looking ugly as pig shit when you hit the ice...
sure they could bring em back as their "vintage" jersey...but i think it would be a bad idea to bring back those old blue and yellow garbage rags to be used as their only jerseys...the new ones are sweet, and they're playing pretty damn well in them, i wouldn't want them to change anything as long as they keep winning...
At first i though that was bean's new signature picture taking up the whole screen once again

Damn - did you guys see this from Carolina's website:
"Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of bordering states," with residency based on credit-card address. "Orders by residents outside of this area will be canceled without notice and refunds given."

The "ban" was lifted after 24 hours. They tried to give "so-called" canes fans a chance to buy tickets first before the sabres fans buy them up. There are still plenty left. Don't they realize that there are more sabres fans living in the state of north carolina then canes fans. They even call it "Buffalo South"!
I'm as much as a oilers fan as the next guy,
but why do they want you to to get electric, if they are an oil company?
