Our PP still sucks somethin' awful, but hey, we'll take the win. When you crash the net, good things happen. Phaneuf's monster hit on Hamel was a thing of beauty, and I'm pretty sure that one will be on all the highlight reels tonight. Next up, the Maple Laughs on Saturday. GO FLAMES!!!
Kipper is God!
That Phaneuf hit was huge. Dont know if you had the same feed as me but those were some bad homer announcers. Emerys save were all fucking miracles and Kippers were lucky or Ottawa misfires.

Yeah, those guys were pathetic. I loved when the colour guy said: "Has Phaneuf left the ice at all this period??" He sounded so frustrated, LOL. Still though, they're not quite as bad as Bob Cole and the Hockey Night in Canada crew (Leafs are awesome, blah blah blah, Leafs are unstoppable, blah blah blah). Saturday's game should be fun. If the Flames can build on tonight's win and keep using their speed and forecheck, the Leafs are in trouble. Now if only our pop-gun offence would start clicking. There were lots of missed opportunities tonight that should've been goals. Iginla has been awesome lately (thank god), but I'm still waiting for Tanguay to catch fire.
There just seems to be such a lack of creativity. Even or on the PP. Guess its the same ol story though. Whats the deal with Amonte? How did he ever get 50? You know who I always thought the Flames should go after. Geoff Sanderson and Dallas Drake. Always thought they were underrated and come at a decent price. If you check out Sandersons carrer stars he has put up some nice numbers. Gotta give props to the former Bronco. :thumb:

Nice to see all the flames fans getting excited over a hit because their team is so painfully mediocre.

Isn't a little early to say which teams are mediocre? It's a long season, my friend. The Flames have a habit of starting poorly out of the gate and then picking up steam as the season progresses. It's their style.
Hey Jean-Sebastien Aubin ... nice job auditioning Mikael Tellqvist for the role of back-up goalie last night, you f*ckin' piece of sh*t.
... sorry ... there was no emoticon for that.

I missed the game last night because Rogers in Ottawa won't let me buy the Leafs channels...fu*king commies!!!
I checked in on the score last night, and I went to bed, rest assured, that another victory was in the works given the commanding 6-3 lead going into the 3rd...only to wake up to discover that my beloved buds shit the bed and lost in another goddamn shootout. According to the internet chat, Aubin really sucked ass and simply blew it for us...with a little help from the refs. My guess is that Raycroft won't be getting another night off on the bench for another 20 games or so....mercifully.
RG, amen re shit the bed, fucking commies, and sucking ass.
that's the trifecta of swearing, my friend, and you knocked em out of the park in one paragraph.
No one has commented yet (so let me be the first to do so) of the foresight (in hindsight) of the NJ coach not to yank Brodeur after 2 periods, which he should have been based on the Tucker and Ponikarovsky goals, so that he was available for the shootout. Twas a bit of ill-luck for our Beloved Maple Leaves.

Whats up your ass? It was a huge hit. Wouldn't matter what team it was.
what's with pierre maguire 'on the ice' the entire broadcast...he's more annyoing than ever..why can't tsn just call a normal game and stop being cheerleaders for the NHL

Are you being serious? Do you expect
NHL broadcasters to
bash the NHL?
But you have to admit that the 'on the ice' thing is gay. He did it all last season too and it was usually to point out some painfully obvious detail but it was supposed to be all special because it was 'on the ice.' I'm on board with the opinion that Pierre Maguire is a tool.

no..i don't expect them to bash..but to blatantly call every game "brilliant..great..exciting"...it's bullshit...
He used to annoy the piss out of me, but when I listen to some of the other clowns out there (Millen in particular, Kypreos and Domi in the pre-game shows), I actually don't mind Maguire as much.
It's definitely a goofy gimmick, but I admit to enjoying hearing about some of the on-ice banter - like Maltby giving the gears to Roy for diving and then Roy telling him that he learned from him since he's the master.
