I was watching the game when it happened, its hockey it happens, hope he's okay.
What a wild game by the way, are these Pens not fun to watch or what?
ryan93 Wrote:Brad Stuart & Wayne Primeau to Calgary, Sutter isn't wasting any time!
I look for Primeau to make a huge impact on the Flames.
Seriously though, is Brad Stuart any good anymore? He was one of the top young d-men a few years ago but it seems like he hasn't gotten any better. Oh well, the Flames only gave up Ference and Kobasew so it certainly won't hurt their team.
as a pens fan and knowing that newbury is going to be ok, that was freaking sweet. i can`t wait to get to work tomorrow and give all the newfie leaf fans the gears

Well, the Flames certainly got their asses handed to them today by Detroit. What an awful game, and another piss poor effort on the road. At least they made it interesting by scoring those quick goals near the end of the 3rd. I swear this team suffers from some kind of multiple personality disorder. They played such a great game against the Sabres the night before, and then they completely stink up the joint the very next day. Sooooo frustrating. Iggy has been totally invisible for four straight games now. It's weird.
:nooooo
i kinda missed out on the whole Koivu Sundin debate after i sparked it...
Sundin has had much more to work with for most of his tenure in Toronto than SK has in Montreal...until about, last season...
they've both had their own well chronicled injuries and health issues...
they've both played some amazing hockey internationally, Sundin having captured Olympic Gold...Koivu led the Fins to within a goal of O.T. at the WCH2004, and while you don't win anything for that, i thought it should be noted, as there was no way in hell anyone was going to beat Canada that night...
Sundin has probably a better scoring touch...
however, IMO Koivu is a harder worker, which is important when considering that both wear the C on their sweaters...
Sundin is big...
Koivu often likes to play like he is...
both are good at faceoffs
Saku is probably faster, while Sundin is most likely to be stronger
they're both really good at shootouts/possess some n ifty moves...
Sundin might have a better shot, but Koivu is really really troublesome for opposition players down low and can create a lot of havoc in that are with or without the puck...
both seem to work really well with the some of the younger players on their teams...
I'd say each is probably more suited for his team's style of play, even though, i will admit, Sundin has put up better numbers in his career so far...
they don't play for numbers though, they play for cups, and neither one of em has one yet...
in a game of one on one however, on frozen a pond in Europe somewhere, i think Koivu would win.

Now THAT'S a good one. What has Sundin had to work with? Jonas Hoglund? Sergei Berezin? An end of the line Steve Thomas? An end of the line Gary Roberts? In his career in MTL, Koivu's had teammates named Mark Recchi, Vincent Damphousse, a semi-productive Martin Rucinsky, and Alexei Kovalev - among others. Hell, even when the Leafs did have a bona fide winger for Sundin (Mogilny), Quinn insisted on playing them on different lines.
You make some other good points, but the theory that Sundin has had more to work with simply isn't true.

so you're saying Montreal had a better team than the Leafs did prior to the lockout?
because that certainly wasn't the tune you were singing at the time...

No, I'm saying Koivu had more
talent to play with than Sundin did, but talent doesn't always result in a
better team. Just ask Sens fans.
Nagy's been traded to Dallas..

here you go Leaf fans.....
The next night, a Saturday, at the Gardens for the fourth game, Sawchuk was so hung over his hair hurt, his vision blurred, his body felt like lead. But, what the heck, he was only along as a spectator that night. Bower would play goal."
