I have to say, at least Gainey isn't afraid to blow up a team that's not working. I think the Kostitsyn brothers might be thinking soberly about their play, having seen what Gainey did with Kovalev.

after some careful reflection i have to laud bob for what he did, he manned up and did something i didnt think he would do, and for letting kovalev go he won me back..for now.

will his (bob's) faith in Carey Price be his undoing this year? I hope not, i really want this kid to succeed

still lots of questions, but I like the team's new makeup, character wise and skill wise I think were alot better. If Price plays to his potential and really nails it down, I think we'll be in the playoffs, hopefully the defence corps wont let us down.

I don't know what it is about him, but i've never liked Patrick Kane.

You know, it's kinda sad that kids look up to some of these hockey players as role models. But some of them are set up for these kinds of melt downs. I mean, from the age of 14 on, everybody tells them how good they are at hockey and life. They probably get any puck bunny they want in high school, and don't even study hard because they think they're in the NHL already. They also don't get part-time jobs because they need to focus on hockey 24/7.
Then, after grad they don't get jobs or go to post-sec. No, they go play junior hockey where scouts smother them with love and praise. They never learn how to grow up; they assume they're the shit.

Dion Phaneuf, Kane, Dustin Penner, all NHL hockey players, all grade-A dicks. These are the athletes kids look up to.

Where have all the Joe Sakic's and Stevie Yzerman's all gone? Classy guys.

Crosby seems like a really good kid, nice guy, and considering he's possibly the best player in the world right now, fairly modest and humble.

I have a buddy whose from Cole Harbour, and "graduated" with Sidney (as Sidney was always at hockey camps and schools etc. and coming back for a semester at Cole Harbour here and there). Anyways, he told Sid couldn't get a girl in high school if his life depended on it. Apparently he had some fucked up acne

Man, that is fuckin' saaaad. Jose used to be my boy when he was in Montreal, I loved him, way more than Saku, I thought he was the second coming of Saint Patrick. This is terrible news, I wouldn't even wish this on a lowly Maple Leaf, or even a Senator. Seriously though, my thoughts will be with him and his family.
