I hope your team can pull it off, but i think you'll be in for a real battle with the Flyers in the first round, should be a great series. Peter Forsberg was great tonight and that line with Mike Knuble and Simon Gagne is something else. If they can get solid goaltending from one of Esche or Niittymaki, I think they could go deep.
The Habs are on some kind of run right now, very impressive. They're definitely going to make the playoffs, that much is for sure. They'll going to have a tough task ahead of them regardless of whether its Ottawa, Carolina or the Rangers, but the way they are playing right now, they could definitely make some noise in the post season as well & easily upset one of the top seeds.
that's what they do best, take out top 3 seeds

...
Which is why i kind of hope they finish 7th or 8th...although i'm not thrilled with the prospect of Marty & the Devils in the opening round. And then there's the defending champs in Tampa.
Wow. Another four points for Teemu tonight. That's 84 points for him this season, and a +32 to go along with it. He's gotta be the comeback player of this season.
That's funny, i was just coming on here to right about Teemu Selanne! He's been sizzling since the Olympics (where he was one of the top players). He's having a remarkable season, 38 goals, 84 ponts, an NHL best +32 among forwards, 17 PPG's, etc. Alongwith Scott Niedermayer, he's the leader of the Ducks and is a key cog in their terrific season. He's playing with passion and is a great leader....all this for $1 million this season, what a bargain!
GO HABS GO!! I think this is the most excited about hockey Ive been all year, its nice to see that the players still care about making it to the big dance. I think its safe to say we'll be there, I would love to see Montreal upset Ottawa or Carolina in the first round.
Comeback player of the year I agree has to be Selanne for sure. I always hoped he'd find his game again, used to love watching him tear it up, his rookie year with Winnipeg was one of the finest Ive ever seen. Also Paul Kariya has bounced back nicely with Nashville this season too.. 27G 49A so far.

Flames better come out flying tonight. We need the points. I have a feeling somebody on the Yotes is gonna get "Phaneuf'ed" tonight.
GO FLAMES GO!!!
haha, that pic is awesome!
since 2004's World Cup Of Hockey, i've been saying that Montreal should sign Selanne and put him on a line with Koivu...
now if they want him they'll have to pay out the ass because he's had such a great year...*sigh*

I keep hearing how much of a bargain Carter has been for the Canucks at 1 million but Selanne blows him out of the water. That man has been ridiculous since the Olympics, just ridiculous.
he's been almost "Huet" or "Higgins"-like...lol j/k.
Another three points for Briere tonight. Wow. At his pace if he hadn't missed so many games he'd be top five in points. I've got a theory - remember that movie Face/Off with Nic Cage and Travolta where Nic Cage was given Travolta was given Nic Cage's face so that he could find out information from Cage's brother? Well, I think somebody did that with Martin St. Louis and Daniel Briere this season. Briere is actually St. Louis, but with Briere's face. And vice versa. That's gotta be the explanation for the numbers Briere has put up, and the piss-poor season from St. Louis.
Big win for the Buds tonight - but it won't make a difference. Even if Tampa falters, Atlanta has been hot lately. Two softy goals by Snow in the third tonight.
Sabres are finally back after a few nights off. They dominated that game. Just have to find a way to not make those few simple mistakes. Ottawa capitalized on every one, mostly turnovers.
Great effort. Mair and Peters are bringing back that sense of toughness we have been missing! Briere is on fire!
Bring on Philly!! (a little worried about them...)
Yeah it sucks Daniel Briere had to go through the injury troubles earlier in the year, for he's having one hell of a season & would have some scary numbers had he been healthy.
The same goes for Martin Rucinsky on the Rangers. He's having a career season at 35 years of age (and he's played practically the entire season on the 2nd line, hasn't skated much with Jagr). Rucinsky was our most consistent offensive threat all year long not named Jaromir, but injuries have wrecked havoc on his season. He has 55 points in 49 games (the stats will say he played 52 games...but 3 different times this year he's left a game after only 1 or 2 shifts).
