God damn, that Flames/Ducks game last night pissed me off. Who the hell calls a 5 on 3 against the team that's behind during the final minute of the game?? The first penalty was a blatant high stick, so yea, call that one for sure...but the phantom call on Phaneuf 30 seconds later was bloody ridiculous. 2 minutes for playing defence. What made it worse was that Calgary was pressing hard for the tying goal while killing off the first penalty, and it was looking like they might actually score a shorty to tie it up. The officiating in this league is a freakin' joke.

End of rant. Bring on the Coyotes.

Fair enough.
But one thing that has changed form the old to the new are the penalty shots. It seems like there is a penalty shot every night on the highlight reels nowadays. Every single tug, touche, and if anybody saw Kovalchuk yesterday, dive is turned into a penalty shot.
Remember when it was rare and the most exciting play in hockey? That was awesome. Now it's normal.

p.s. I'm totally stoked about Montreal being first in the East. :thumb: :thumb:

Washington beat the crap out of Boston 10-2. You know it's bad when your starting goalie gets pulled twice in a game!
That is pretty embarassing. For anybody who has Ovechkin in their pool, he had 3 goals (in the first period alone!) and two assists on the night.

I think Boston is #1 all time in 10 (ten only) GA games?

I don't have Ovechkin, but i did take Nicklas Backstrom in the 18th (and final) round in my pool

Do you guys on the forum have a hockey pool? Seems like it would be a given with the number of hockey fans.
