He might not be a total superstar but he is good centre, is big and gets points, sooo MONTREAL WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on Habs, Im sick of this shit, sign a GOOD solid fucking player for a godamn change!!!!! Our centres our Koivu, Bonk and Ribeiro...thats crap! Get rid of these soft floaters, Ribeiro is a diver and a loser and Bonk sucks ass. If I have to endure another year of Ribeiro flopping around on the ice and only playing when he feels like it, and Bonk scoring one goal every 8 months Im gonna puke! It would be nice if Kovalev didnt take every second game off either, we need more guys like Begin and Boullion, guys who put it on the line every night and give 100% for the team. Fuck Im mad, can you tell? Im just so sick of this shit...look at this roster: http://www.canadiens.com/eng/team/redir ... Roster.cfm
Its WEAK I tell ya...WEAK!!
:x :x
sorry im done, this was done mostly in frustration and partly with tongue in cheek, but I was hoping for changes this year, we need size and real talent, guys who actually produce year in and year out..
im done for now.
i think they're waiting to see what Koivu's status is going to be, so they know what their needs are...if Koivu's gonna miss any considerable amount of time, i'm guessing that they'll spend extra $ to try to get a player that can help compensate...not that there's anyone available that can fill Saku's shoes, BUT, there are probably a few that could put up close to the same numbers and keep the team competitive in his absence.
This just came thru on the wire....

HL:Source: Edmonton Oilers trade Chris Pronger to Anaheim
EDMONTON (CP) _ The Edmonton Oilers have granted Chris Pronger his wish.
The star defenceman is headed to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks after being traded for forward Joffrey Lupul, a prospect and three draft picks, a source tells The Canadian Press.
Pronger helped lead the Oilers to the Stanley Cup final this season, where they lost in seven games to the Carolina Hurricanes.
He stunned the team by asking for a trade after the final for personal reasons.
Pronger signed a $31.25-million US, five-year contract with the Oilers last summer.
Lupul scored 28 goals with 25 assists for the Mighty Ducks last year.
I just heard that Steve Yzerman will announce his retirement today. I think he is getting a job in the Wings front office. I must say as a Flyers fan this free agent period has been very uneventful. I mean Nolan Baumgartner WTF!

You can thank some of the long term deals Clarke handed out last year for that.
Yzerman's press conference is on The Score right now! I'll miss you Stevie!!
And yep, Pronger is a Duck. Wow, Niedermayer & Pronger on the same blueline!!
And yeah it's been pretty slow from a Rangers stand point as well. Glad to see Marty Straka get resigned yesterday, but the only new face thus far is Matt Cullen (although Karel Rachunek is back in the fold after a year in Russia).
Hats off to Steve Yzerman, what a career, one of the classiest players ever. He's up there with Beliveau imo, nice to see such loyalty to a team as well, that mentality is long gone these days.
As for the Pronger trade, I expected Edmonton to land a real superstar in return, its not a terrible deal, just wasn't what I expected. Although if the picks and that up and coming defencman is as good as he's projected it could work out good in the long term, we'll have to wait and see. Lupul is a good player, but I think Edmonton will suffer on the back end this year, Roloson had a good playoff but I have a feeling it wont carry over to next season, and he cant keep that level of greatness up for a whole season. I think they would have been smarter to go after Legace or someone else. At least this deal will give them some cap room to make other moves.
so i guess he isn`t coming to canada as promised? good

It seems a lot of old time washups go to Phoenix to finish up their career (ie: Brett Hull...)
Roenick didn't go to Calgary for "family" reasons. Not that I care about him but this is getting stupid. If the Flames offered me 1.2 million to move to Calgary next year I think I could iron it out with the ol lady.
I love the whole "I play for the love of the game as long as I get 5 million and get to pick the city".
You can now add Jeff Friesen to Sutter's list of off-season signings (my jaw hit the floor when I first heard about the Tanguay deal). Looks like he's beefing up our offence and our speed at the same time, which is exactly what I expected him to do. Our front end is starting to look pretty deep. I'm guessing Iggy/Tanguay/Huselius will be our #1 line, which is probably the most dangerous combination we've had since the Fleury/Nieuwendyk/Roberts days.
I think the Tanguay move is a good one, but Friesen?!? The same guy who scored 4 goals in 51 games last year?!? Well, I suppose he can fill Donovan's spot. I think the Flames still need a playmaking centre for Iggy (and Tanguay).
As for JR, I can't believe anyone would be interested in that clown. The only thing he's good for are his quotes.

I thought the same thing, but then I realized that he's got a history with Sutter. If anybody can get his ass in gear, it's Darryl. During the media scrum today, Sutter described Friesen as a good player who had an off year. He also said he's a good team guy who fits the chemistry of the team, he's got great speed, and he can play well at both ends. For the Flames' sake, I hope Darryl is right. I think he'll end up being a decent 3rd or 4th line forward, and it would be great if we can squeeze at least 15 goals out of him.
