The Leafs fans in front of me Saturday night:

Stood up for most of the game
Was not aware of the "whistle rule" through out the game
Carried on and shouted "cheater" everytime a penalty was called
His girlfriend stood up and clapped when Spachek was not moving for 30 seconds
Kept mentioning that Canada is so great for free health care

I told him that I hear that Leafs players recommend the many fine Toronto golf courses, in April.

All I got from him was a blank stare. cratch:

I also think he left his helmet on the bus.

Now, before I mention this, yeah, I know the Habs have won 23 Cups......but did you know that in the last 10 NHL seasons they've won a grand total of three playoff series?!? In that same time the Leafs have won 7 - or more than twice as many.

I'm with you..i think for the money that Auld gets compared to Luongo, yeah...he's no better...but a healthy Luongo is still better than an injured Bert!!

You guys need to be patient. Generally it takes a new goaltender time to get used to his new D, and in Luongo's case - where he switched conferences - it will take him time to get used to seeing different teams way more often. I remember when Belfour first came to the Leafs and he looked really bad, but once he got used to the D and they got used to him, he came around.

Man, I'd think that with the history of Canuck goaltenders - which ranges from average to piss-poor - you'd be thrilled to have an upper-echelon 'tender for a change!

That's why I said I'm not writing Luongo off by any means. I am just not drinking the kool-aid of the puck bunny Vancouver fans and commentators (Kelly Hrudey) who say Luongo has exceeded expectations so far.

Opiated, I am still 100% supportive of the move. Trading Bertuzzi and finally getting a top goalie in Vancouver was a brilliant move by Nonis. He gave up Allen but he also got Kraijeck in the deal, who has been one of the better defenseman for the Canucks IMO. I'll even say an injured Luongo is STILL better than a healthy Bert.

anyway, I'm a habs fan, but at least the Leafs fans keep the faith...and actually have glory days in their past (even if they were 40+) years ago...Sabres have a good club this year, but IMO, Sabres fans are a lil, wait no, A TON, too big for their briches...

Edmonton at Montreal tomorrow, should be tough, BUT, Montreal aren't pushovers this year, and this is a good test of strenght, the Western Conference champs...

then on Saturday it's back to T-dot to attempt to avenge that last shootout loss agains the Leafs at the Bell Centre...

Buffalo was awesome last year. Came within 20 minutes of reaching the stanley cup. They are 12-1-1 this year. Ottawa was about to steamroll to the cup until they faced Buffalo. The one team that was built to beat them. The only thing that makes us look like last years senators this year is that we are unstoppable early. I fail to see how thats not a good thing? Not every team that starts good is destined to fail in the playoffs.

Great game last night. Actually, it was a terribly boring game but the result was great. Way to go Caps!

Some players are just born to be goal scorers and right now in the NHL there is no player who exemplifies that more than Alexander Ovechkin...and the fact that this kid leads his team in hits makes me think he is destined to be the next greatest thing in Hockey. The only thing that makes me nervous about his longevity is the aforementioned physical play, hopefully it will not cause him to break down like Forsberg has these past several seasons.

How about that awesome coaching job by Dave Lewis last night? Kovalchuk scored all three of his goals on the PP from the same damn spot every time! Hey Dave, how about you tell your forwards to get a little more aggressive with Kovalchuk so that he can't tee up one timers all night. Just an idea.

ya, well, they didn't win the cup last year, they were eliminated by the same team that eliminated the habs...so it really doesn't matter. they do look good this year, but, unless they go all the way, does it matter where they finish?

even if they had come within a goal of winning the cup...if they don't bring home the prize...does it matter? i dunno, that's just my opinion, it's all or nothin' for me...being eliminated in any round is equally painful...
