Maybe Linden will put the team on his back and carry them.

I know, I know.....low blow.

I wouldn't worry about your 'nucks making the playoffs. What I would worry about is yet another first round exit. I

As a hockey fan though, I'd love to see a first round COL/VAN matchup. That would be sweet. Provided of course that the CBC decides to invest in a 2nd set of HD cameras prior to the playoffs.

Man, the NHL should dock Detroit and Nashville some points. I mean they play 24 friggin games against Columbus, Chicago, and St. Louis! I think my rec team would go 18-6 against those teams.

linden is actually playing better than a lot of other 'nucks right now..he's showing some hustle, and making things happen...all i ask for is an effort, and he shows that..as for the top line....i don't think they even know what effort means anymore
Linden has always been one of my favourite players. I wish he was traded to the Leafs way back when. :/

The Flames pretty much sleepwalked through that game (like they seem to do with many of the bottom-rung teams), but thanks to Dion's heroics, my boys now have sole posession of 1st place in the division heading into the Olympic break. Not a bad place to be. All we need now to complete the package is an affordable centreman who can help us pot a few extra goals here and there, and we'll be sittin pretty. This team is built for the post season, and I've got a good feeling heading into the final 25 games. A well rested Kipper, the mighty Dion, and a recharged post-Olympic Iggy. I can't wait to watch this team tear it up down the stretch and into the playoffs.

GO FLAMES!!!

I think the Nucks play Calgary on Feb 28 and April 8. Please take it easy on us. PLEEEEEEEEASE.

Calgary/Vancouver games are hands down the best thing to watch in the NHL. High-spirited, fast, hard hitting end-to-end hockey. I wouldn't have it any other way. The Flames owned the Nucks over their first 4 meetings, but you guys seem to have our number over the last couple of games. Things are gonna get really interesting down the stretch. The Nucks definitely have the edge over the Flames offensively, but as far as defence and goaltending are concerned, we've got ya beat by a mile. Another playoff series between these two rivals would be something else.

OK, opiated, it's time to admit it - you are Trevor Linden's agent. Or a close relative.

i wish i made that kind of money :thumb: ..but seriously..he's playing well lately..i'm not making that up!!!
Almost 5.5 million/year for Kolzig? Yikes!

Direwolf, what are you talking about? You know Auld is better than Kipper. Ok, maybe not. Auld is better than Cloutier though. The main ingredient Calgary has over Vancouver, other than a better goalie and defense of course, is HARD WORK! Calgary's goal scorers have as much or possibly more grit than Bertuzzi. The Canucks have an incredibly soft team and a bad work ethic. That spells disaster. Honestly, I've seen Naslund play a more physical game of late than Bertuzzi. Of course, Naslund is still playing average hockey. Like I said before, when the Sedins are your best players you are definitely in trouble. Confusedcratch:
nazzie is injured..so he can be somewhat forgiven...the sedins and carter have been great, the young kids have been a nice surprise, and ohlund is a sold D-Man playing more than he should with Jovo out....bert is a big waste of space...
how about those pens! seems likes its been forever since we`ve won 2 straight.....wait, it has been forever :? what a shitty year....i subscribed to centerice about 15-20 games in just to watch the great mario and sid all year rather than the 4-5 games i`d get otherwise....since i`ve subscribed, with these last 2 victories, that makes it a total of 3 wins in all their games i`ve watched and they have actually given me migraines watching them play Sad . i do like the foundation they have though and i think they will be near top in 4-5 years...winnipeg jets -stanley cup winners of 2009/2010- thats my nostradamus ass Smile
Two more goals for Jagr last night in the win over the Leafs. I believe that's 40 on the season and 88 points for the season so far. Jagr isn't done yet boys. He's not done yet. :thumb:
The Horrible Esthete Wrote:cfernyh, i guess it's futile to debate it further. You can substantiate why you feel this is more of a fuss than it's worth, and i really don't need substantiate why I think it is big, as it plastered all over the media.

Well, it was certainly all over the media when questions were raised about Gretzky's awareness, but since "sources say" that the timing of Gretzky's call to Tocchet support his claim of no prior knowledge, the story has suddenly become a footnote.

Boy, those New Jersey police sure are great at keeping their yaps shut.
i think the media is disappointed that gretzky has nothing to do with it...i still don't see the big deal about it either...bets were made..big fucking deal..did anybody get hurt??

Man, we are agreeing way too much lately. Good thing we've still got Trevor Linden to argue over. :thumb:

 :thumb: ..but it's true..my dad and i were talking about it yesterday...give it up!! unless they are betting on their own teams, who gives a shit what they do...the media wanna topple the great one...did you see the press conference today with wayne?? even though he kept saying, i'm only goin to talk hockey..they wouldn't let it go...to me, that's the crime...
