It wasn't the first shootout of the season no, Montreal/Buffalo had one the other night.

Shootouts are for sissies and tree huggers.

Shootouts might be fun to watch, but I still dont think its the right way to end a game. Why the hell cant we go back to W-L-T? Getting an overtime loss point is stupid, why should you get a point for losing? I say play 10 mins of OT winner take all, or end it in a tie 1 point apiece.

Shootouts -- A great way to win, a terrible way to lose!

Buffalo seems to fair pretty well. Miller is solid on breakaways and Max, Vanek, Briere, Drury can finish with the best of them.

Naslund is integral and I am a fan of his too but the Sedins were more consistent last season.

Oh yeah, I get ya now. Yeah, it could be taken that way.

Nazzy scored a beautiful goal just before the 2nd period ended. I live on the east coast so I don't get to see them much on television if they're not on CBC(although TSN is showing the Wild game Tuesday). I'm watching on yahoo sports on the internet. The Canucks don't look good at all but it's still tied. Colorado scored but the whistle went for some reason, right before the goal so it was called off. The Avs weren't happy but, oh well.

Some observations from the first game seeing the Nucks in action this season:

1)Rory Fitzpatrick sucks and he sucks hard.
2)Taylor Pyatt is worse than a lump of coal.
3)The Canucks penalty kill looks horrible.
4)Naslund might end up getting back to his elite play this season the way he looks so far.
5)Trevor Linden should have retired five seasons ago. :rambo:

Yeah, I was wondering how jubilant the Buffalo team and fans are about these players moving on. Pyatt is a useless slug and Fitzpatrick is only good for taking penalties as far as I can tell.

Colorado 3-2 victory over the Canucks. Pretty boring game but I don't expect too much from Vancouver this season. They finally got a great goalie but the rest of the team is pretty average. Other than the Sedins, Naslund, Ohlund, Salo, and Morrison (I'm being generous by including him), the rest of the lineup is pretty useless in a Tie Domi kind of way.

When Sabres player losses are discussed, those 2, along with Janik to Tampa aren't even mentioned with Mckee/Grier/Dumont
