Tonight's game should be a hell of a battle. The best team in the NHL (mostly due to the weak-ass division they play in) is coming into our barn tonight, and I have a feeling they might get knocked down a couple of pegs. The Flames are on a bit of a roll right now and they're playing their best hockey of the year, despite the fact that they have 6 regulars out of the lineup with injuries. Detroit pretty much has the Conference locked up at this point and they don't really have anything to play for down the stretch, while the Flames are a very hungry bunch still fighting for the division title. This is gonna be fun!
What's the word on Jamie Lundmark? As a Ranger fan (Lundmark of course used to be our top prospect and the future of this franchise) it was great to see Lundmark finally displaying some of his potential, so i was very disappointed when he was injured the other night.
It should be a great game between the Wings/Flames. As i said my uncle was in Calgary this past week & just got back today. He was at the past two home games against LA & Colorado and it was the first time he ever saw Dion Phaneuf play in person, and he was amazed by the kid - nothing but high praise.
The Canucks game tonight just got even bigger, with both San Jose and Edmonton already picking up 2 points tonight, and Colorado and Calgary appear both to be heading to overtime which would mean at least 1 point each for them.
Darcy Tucker is the biggest piece of S h i t in the the game of hockey. Gets his ass laid out then intentionally injures Jochen Hecht. F*** the leafs. Them missing the playoffs is hilarious!!
Hecht's injury isn't very funny though...that's going to hurt the team just about as much as Hecht come playoff time.
haven't seen it yet, but it was probably dirty, that's how Tucker rolls...until he gets rolled by Kovalev

.
F**k I hate shootouts. It was a great game tonight, and both teams played extremely hard. I had a good feeling the Flames were gonna pull it out in OT, especially after killing off that penalty, but we just didn't get the breaks tonight. We didn't play physical enough, and that's why we lost. Well, that and the fact that we totally suck in shootouts. Oh well, at least we got a point out of it and we're still in first place. If these two teams meet in the playoffs again this year, I expect it'll be a long series. Thank god they don't have shootouts in the playoffs.
GO FLAMES!!!
I haven't seen the Tucker hit yet either, but i did see Lindy Ruff's post game interview, and that man was livid!!!
Very close game between the Wings/Flames indeed, great to see Steve Yzerman continue to score, and how fun is Pavel Datsyuk to watch!
And i just found out that Henrik Lundqvist apparently was injured in the Rangers practice yesterday

   :thumb: that was the best thing I've seen all year
Getting shut out by the LA Kings when your playoff lives are at stake-priceless. What an effort by this sad sack of garbage team.

cratch:

cratch: I know some people will bash me for saying this but this team needs a new identity and a NORTH AMERICAN CAPTAIN. Naslund has been awful since the olympic break. Absolutely awful. Unless the Greasers get on a cold streak I think the fat lady has sung in Vancouver. :x :x
I said half of the time I'd want Tucker on my team and the other half of the time I wouldn't. Well, last night was a prime example of a time when I wouldn't want Tucker on my team. I only saw the hit once and knowing Tucker I'm sure his intent WAS TO INJURE and then to top it off he takes a ridiculous dive.
I sound corny saying this but there is no such thing as winning honorably anymore. Any time a player dives he is embarassing himself, his team, and the league. Winning by diving is not winning with honour and almost every team has divers. Toronto has Tucker, Vancouver has Ruutu, LA has Avery, Montreal has Ribeiro, Ottawa has pretty much every player on the team, Edmonton has Peca, Calgary has Donovan,etc....

You'd know. When was the last time the Sabres were in? The 80s?

Agree with you 100%. Funny how Cherry always points out the Euro-divers but never says squat about Tucker, Ribeiro, or the worst of the bunch, Avery.

Buffalo - Playoffs in 2006!
Toronto - Nothing going this season, maybe next year once everyone is another year older and slower...if that is possible!
Darcy Tucker is a pole smoker! And Leaf's fans love him! Embarrasing. What can ya do. The sad thing is, with the new NHL, he may never get what he deserves. In the meantime, Zambonis might be renamed Darcys...the guy rolls around on the ice so much who needs to clean the ice? What a pu**y!
Go Sabres...Hecht will be back in a couple weeks. We'll get him back for Round 2!

Are you talking about those old and slow Leafs that beat Buffalo 7-0 on Saturday night, with their 3rd string goalie and without 2 of their top 3 centres? Just wonderin'.
Hey man, I'm a Leaf fan and I can't stand Tucker. I wish he had quit the team when his boyfriend Corson did.
The sabres own the leafs...they always have. One blowout means nothing. We came right back to the ACC and beat em last night. What a team you got there!!
By the way, talk all you want about the sabres not being in the playoffs the last 3 years. The leafs havent even participated in the Stanley Cup finals since 1967. Thats pathetic. Their one good chance came against the Sabres and all we all know how that turned out with the Sabres dismantling the leafs in 5 games ...on your home ice. By the way even Rob Ray scored a game winning goal in that series. Maybe a few of you leaf fans will like to take a roadtrip down the QEW to catch some playoff hockey this year.
haha...
and btw, Ribeiro's dive in the 2002 playoffs was magnificent, an Oscar caliber performance...nobody in the league can dive like he can
BUT
that's honestly the only time i've seen him dive, and there should've been a penalty called right before he dove anyway , and there wasn't, so he evened the score a little...i thought it was hilarious when he got up and called the guy on!
IMO diving is pretty bad and shameful, BUT, trying to purposely injure someone *cough* Kyle McClaren *cough* IS FAR WORSE.
