tigerthelion Wrote:Yeah, Linden and Morrison pretty much add nothing to the team. I truly believe that I could fill in for them and the team wouldn't miss a beat. It sure would be nice if the Canucks could score on, ya know, A HACK LIKE LALIME!

:EDIT: I guess they add something. Tongue Morrison has 6 shootout goals so that's basically all he does. I was shocked when Linden was picked to shoot first and even more shocked when he scored.

Linden played a ton tonight...he was on every second shift..he's having a great season

ohh, and f**k the ducks. pronger can suck a cock, the traitorous bastard.

What's the deal with Roloson going to the bench to take a cheap time out when his team is getting outplayed, to have the equipment guy wipe his skates???? Confusedcratch:

Didn't he pull that crap in the playoffs last year??

He must of learned that cheap move when he was playing behind hasek in Buffalo.

Next time let him rub your nuts you too, Rollie!
:thumb:

it worked, didn't it :thumb:

In the long run, no.

No cup last year
No win last night

No playoffs this year

Not that any of that has to do with a cheap delay of game.
It's simply a weak stunt.

I don't follow your logic...

something he did last night affected his chances of winning a stanely cup last year? the only reason we didn't win the cup is cause roloson wansn't in the last six games thanks to bergeron running into him full speed. nay sayers be damned, we would have won that series had that first game not gone so horribly wrong.

and yes, it did work. we may not have won the game, but we got a point...and for the oilers as they are right now, a point against buffalo is like two from most teams.

making the playoffs...we'll see. we always somehow manage to pull it off year after year. 8th place seems to be our destiny.
That was just a horrible game this afternoon between the Rangers & Flyers. The Flyers were running all over the place in the first period, and they took a number of just plain stupid penalties, especially Todd Fedoruk. The Rangers powerplay was pathedic though, going 0-6 in the 1st.

It was a very tough game for the Rangers though. Henrik Lundqvist took a hard slap shot from Geoff Sanderson to the shoulder late in the 2nd period & couldn't finish the game. Marek Malik left the game with a shoulder injury. Aaron Ward hurt his hand in a fight with Alexandre Picard and had to leave the game. Jaromir Jagr hurt his shoulder on a hit from Derian Hatcher, though he did stay in the game. Jed Ortmeyer went head first into the boards and had to go get stitched up. But of course the big one was the collision between Brendan Shanahan & Mike Knuble. That was scary to watch, Shanny was out cold & motionless for a long time, and in all was down a good 15 minutes before being taken off the ice on a stretcher & leaving in an ambulance. Hopefully both him & Knuble will be ok. Al Tratweic gave an update with about 10 minutes left on Knuble, saying his eye was swollen shut & they were deciding whether he should be taken to the hospital too!
god i can't stand watching leafs games on cbc. could those two assholes be any happier when they win? their delight tonight as the leafs bested the oil was so thinly vieled it made me ill.

time for some new comentators, cbc.
I love all the whining the Oiler fans are doing over Bob Cole and Harry Neale lately. Love it! I mean there's even a thread on the topic!

Boo-frickity-hoo.

Personally, if I was an Oiler fan, I'd be more pissed with Lupul....or Bergeron....or Horcoff....or anyone else on that team that has had a wildly disappointing 06/07 season - you know - the guys on the ice who are actually contributing to the Oilers missing the playoffs - before I complained about HNIC commentators make me "ill".

On another note, at Christmas I sure didn't expect to see Les Habitants in the Leafs rearviewmirror. Wow.
as the habs fade all that i can say (in unison)

sixty seven -- clap clap clap clap clap

yes i'm pissed with lupul...he's useless. horcoff has actually been fantastic of late. bergeron...never.

the one true thing i have to hold dear, is that calgary won't make it anywhere, cause they're entire team rests on the shoulders of a goalie...and you can't make it past the second round like that. hahahahaahhahaa!!1!

and yes, cbc commentators should be impartial, not completely skewed to one team.
Henrik Zetterberg is on FIRE! He had a horrible first half of the season offensively, at least to his standards (including a stretch at one point of 9 straight games without a point). Has he ever turned things around though!

Since January 11th, Zetterberg has 8 3+ point games (including 2 4-pts nights). 34 points in his last 16 games!

Well, not that I'm a Flames fan, but you need to wake up to the fact that the Flames are no longer about Kipper and nothing else. They rank sixth in the NHL in goals scored, a tad better than your Oilers who are 23rd. Don't believe me? Click here.

More goals and better goaltending is why they are nine points ahead of your Oilers.

But I do love the theory that a team can't ride a hot goalie past the second round. The playoffs are littered with dozens of examples of teams that rode a hot goaltender to the Cup final (Kipper, Giguere, Brodeur, Roy), let alone past the second round.

As for Horcoff, too little too late.

As for Cole/Neale, write the CBC a letter.

Six losses in a row ... the karma cops are all over that crack I made about the Flyers, months back.
looks like oilers fans don`t have to worry how bad bergeron is anymore

I think its time for the Habs to find a new leader, sorry Koivu...thanks for all you've given this team, but its time they found a real star to lead this team in the right direction, your time is up imo. Too many underachievers and shaky goaltending is killing this team right now, there's a handful of players on this team who need a serious kick in the ass or be traded. Im hoping Gainey will unload some of them soon, and sign some decent players in the off-season, for a change.
that's crazy...I understand thing's aren't goin so well, but i doubt they'l be able to replace Koivu properly any time soon...

For the amount of money he makes compared to other centres around the league he's terrible, he barely scores and gets hurt too much and Im tired of it, he'd be a great second line centre, but this team needs a real leader/star player if its going to get anywhere. These has-beens and wanna-be stars aren't going to get it done. Just look at the depth on this team at centre and the salaries of some of the players, and tell me there isn't problems, especially when you have defencemen playing as wingers half the time, its crap.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=2710&hubname=

I like Koivu he works hard he makes plays and is a good captain, but his time as leader and highest paid player on this team is up, he'd be a great 2nd line centre at less money, unless they bought a star winger to play with him, but we need a real superstar on this team especially at centre. Like when the hell was the last time a Montreal player was in the top ten in scoring?? Off the top of my head I'd say it was Mats Naslund probably around 1986, also the last Hab to break 100 points sad. The last Hab to win the Art Ross was LaFleur in 1978, the year I was born, again sad. The last Habs player to win a norris trophy, Chelios 1989 sad. This team needs to get some real players who actually produce for a change, its really getting sickening, what happened to Montrealers, if this was 1960 they'd of burned down the Bell Centre by now.

Ive watched every Habs game this year and the sad thing is Bonk, Plekanec, Johnson, Streit and Komisarek have been the only consistent players, especially in the last 2 months, and they seem to be the only ones who give a shit either.

Souray scores goals and has a big shot, but he makes too many mistakes in his own end and turns the puck over too much, I watched him do it twice last nite, once for a goal. Rivet is having a bad year despite the effort I wouldnt be surprised if he's the first one traded and I dont really care if they do. Kovalev is still playing that same tired tune of playing when I feel like it and sulking, Im sick of his act ship him out please, for 4.25 million that guy must go to bed laughing every night. Ryder has lost his way I dont know whats going on with him, but if he doesn't sort it out I would trade him. Samsonov Im not even going to bother, he sucks we got screwed, time to move on. Higgins is an exciting player but he's struggling so is Latendresse, Im still not sure if he's the real deal yet, he's had stretches of great games but has fallen of the map recently. The rest of the defence besides Souray and Rivet is decent I like the group, except Niinimaa he's garbage, but we need a more reliable stay at home guy back there. The goalie situation is a mystery, they played awesome the first half now they can barely stop anything, I hope this Halak kid is as good as they say, same for Carey Price. Nice to know that Jordan Staal got drafted right after him last year..how did Gainey not sense that kid was going to be a star player, he's a rookie playing behind Crosby and Malkin, gets less ice time and has 24 goals and 30 points, better than anyone on our team right now! If Price turns out to be a star goalie Ill let it slide but I dont see it happening. I can see Abeischer being traded or leaving, he's on a one year deal. It all goes back to poor drafting, bad trades, bad signings, bad GM's and harsh media, its no wonder superstars never go there, it all adds up to a losing formula year after year, so really its no surprise were free falling down the standings it happens every year, I know Im tired of it and its pissing me off...anyone else care anymore?
