I believe that Ron Hextall was the last player to win a Conn Smythe trophy playing for a losing team in 1987. Edmonton beat Philidelphia in 7 games. It will be hard for Ward to get it if they lose. If Edmonton comes back from 3-1 someone from the OIlers will get it I think.
Most likely Pronger if Edmonton wins.. Brind'Amour (possibly Stillman or Staal) if Carolina wins.
I don't see any goaltender winning it... *shrugs*

Didn't Giguere win it for the Ducks when they lost? Cant remember for sure.
I stand corrected. I just checked nhl.com and Giguere did win it a few years back. Hextall was the last player previous to that to win it. That sucks because Hextall was my favourite player I thought he had at least that claim to fame (other then scoring goals).
I choose Todd Harvey to win the Conn.
I mean, just look at that moustache!!!!!!
That's the facial hair of an MVP.

Not that he's going to be MVP, but I think he has stuck out to me as far as a player that has stepped up for the playoffs. (well that makes no sense if I don't know who he was but...)Win or lose Ward is gonna get MVP.
If by some miracle the Oilers win, I'm sorry but it's going deservedly to rock on D, Chris Pronger. :thumb:
Yop, Prongs gets it when the Oil wins!
Yeah, wasn't thinking. If the Oilers do come back to take it, Ward would be the goat whether or not the team let him down or not. Give it to Grapes for those jackets he's been wearing. Holy shit  I don't see them live but watch them online (which sucks cuz you don't get the replays).
Yea somebody is missing some ugly ass curtains. Where do you even find material like that?

No way. If the Oilers win, it goes to an Oiler. I know that's not always been the case, but Ward didn't even get the win in all of the Canes' wins this postseason. If they're gonna give it to the goalie of a losing team, that goalie would have to have won 15 games in the postseason (Jiggy, Hextall, et al).
i almost think Roloson should get it for the effort he put forth to get Edmonton to the finals...

I dunno man - they are 2-2 playing in front of a goalie who last played in March. Makes me think that the D might have more to do with it than whoever is in net. Hell, maybe they would have gotten this far with Cujo in net?
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
that was some oiler domination tonight...can`t see them losing game 7

I haven't seen the Oil take control of a game the way they did tonight all playoff run. A key was definitely their disciplined play. And boy, did they ever manage to keep the puck away from Jussi.
It's just too bad they won't have the chance to win it in front of their home crowd.
