Where the hell did Allison come from? His points have been mostly assists all season, but he's been popping them in like crazy. Game winner tonight. Leafs move up on the Habs.
i was at the game tonight and my god..... i think i'll be sans voice for the next few days...i hope the leafers appreciated it!
well i don't know what got into the canucks tonight, but that was one of, if not the best game they've played all year....linden looked like the linden of old tonight(somebody's gonna make fun of me for that!! :thumb: ), and i think it really rubbed off on the team..great to see..once again bert shat the bed, but he'll be gone next year anyways...

A goal, an assist, +2 - all in ten minutes of icetime. That's a great game in my books. There will be no mocking from me.......tonight at least.
was he only on the ice for ten minutes? he seemed to out there more...but thanks for not mocking me..did you watch the game?

No, sadly it was the wife's Sex and the City marathon on the TV tonight (the most painful part of having a PVR was when she discovered the "record this show from all channels option". I think that show is on 83 times a day.
sorry to hear that..was it the censored version? that's even worse!
Allison has really been playing well of late & is a big reason why the Leafs are still alive in the playoff hunt. 7 goals in the last 11 games, and he's scored some big ones too, none bigger than the 3rd period GWG last night. It's not as though he had a bad season, because in fact he's been one of the Leafs most consistent offensive threats all season long, but it wasn't until the last few weeks that he's really started to show signs of the Allison of old. I have him on my pool team too - took in the 15th & final round no less - so i'm happy
Rangers with a tough loss tonight against the division rival Philadelphia Flyers. The momentum in this one swung when Ryan Hollweg just plastered RJ Umberger from behind & was given a 5 minute major for hitting from behind & a game misconduct. It was a dirty hit and an easy call by the refs, there is no doubt about that. Tough break for the Rangers though as the Flyers captilized with 2 goals on the PP, including one with 0.9 seconds left in the period. Jaromir Jagr was dominat again tonight though, 3 goals, #'s 47, 48 and 49, and upped his league leading point total to 104, 5 back of the all-time NYR record.

Allison has been good for the Leafs all season, but he's really stepped it up lately. I guess that can be attributed to him missing over two seasons with injuries and the lockout.
Of course if you believed the Toronto sports media you'd think Allison was a Yashin-sized disappointment.
GO HABS GO! GO HABS GO! GO HABS GO!
OLE! OLE!! OLE-OLE-OLE-OLE!
Tonight's the night, tonight's the nigh-high-high-hight.
Nearly had tickets for tonight's game, but alas, I shall be watching from home. Should be a good one!

If the Leafs beat the Habs tonight it's going to get awfully tense in Montreal.

Not that it isn't already tense, but it will go into pure panic mode if the Leafs make up more ground on the floundering Habs.
It'd be nice if the Nucks could sweep all three from the Oil but that's wishful thinking. Anyway, go Nucks and hopefully Bertuzzi, Naslund, and Morrison show up for a few games down the stretch at least.
i actually saw naslund back check the other night..amazing

I always see Naslund at least attempting to put an effort into the game and in almost all the games I've seen he has backchecked and actually tried to hit people. That's not enough though. He needs to SCORE SCORE SCORE. Bertuzzi needs to do anything at all; hit, score, skate, SOMETHING. Morrison needs to up his point total too. Cooke needs to pack his bags and leave town as far as I'm concerned. I can't believe he held out at the beginning of the season and I can't believe the Canucks overpaid him. Nolan Baumgartner has no business playing in the NHL. Sure he can get a few points but he's so bad defensively that it cancels out any of his offense. Basically, he's just another version of Sopel.
i'd take nolan over sopel any day of the week..and i'm not defending bert by any means, but he actually laid somebody out the other game..granted, that's all he did...what was his little back skating move on the 2 man advantage? that guy is in another world....and before cooke got injured, he was looking good i thought..but since he's come back, it's been a tough ride

I missed Bert's hit since I didn't see the game against the Oilers. The guy thinks he's Wayne Gretzky. I feel funny saying this since Bert is probably as dumb as they come, but if he just played dumber out there he would be better. What I mean by that is he should just skate around hitting everything in sight and go to the net and hack away and get garbage goals. He shouldn't be trying to make the highlight reels with his moves. He should just crash the net and crash anyone near him on his way to the net. He shouldn't think at all.
