I agree Pronger should have gotten more than 8, something in the 12-15 games would have been more appropriate. But if you're suggesting Pronger should have gotten 30 because Simon got 30, I have to disagree. Not only were they different plays, but you have to remember Simon was just coming back from a 25 game suspension for a brutal high stick last season, from which he obviously learned no lesson. Pronger is no doubt a repeat offender as well, but not to the same extent as Simon.
I love it when the Coyotes get a penalty or don't get the call & the camera cuts to ol' 99 swearin like sailor

While the incidents(and lengths) of their suspensions may vary, I find it interesting that they have both been suspended 8 times in their respective careers
not to mention, this is the not the first "kicking" related suspension for Pronger either...
the league is obviously playing favourites.
I remember Havlat got suspended for kicking once or twice, I think he only got 5 games. Intentional kicking no matter the situation or who it is should carry a min length of suspension at least 10 games. Its a pretty stupid thing to do in hockey one of the worst, it deserves stiff punishment, if Pronger had of punched him instead we wouldnt even be talking about it. (unless he bertuzzi'd him).
aka: a "Sudbury Saturday Goodnight"
lol, I've let in similar goals.......

After Sean Avery's second goal of the game last night (his 10th in the last 15 games), the MSG crowd started a "resign Avery" chant

I seen that goal on the highlights this morning, ouch!
We had our championship game last night in rec, it was a best of 3 series, we lost game #1 3-2 in double OT, then came back and won 4-2 to tie the series up. Last night it was tied 2-2 after regulation, and then in OT one of our defensemen just cleared the puck out of our own zone, it bounced akwardly down the ice, bounced right past their goaltender and hit the inside of the post & stayed out! A couple shifts later they scored to win it.
Dear Oilers,
Please stop giving me and the rest of your fans false hope for a playoff run that we all know isn't going to happen. It's great that you're (probably) depriving Anaheim of a top-5 pick, but if you don't start losing more games we're all going to be more disappointed in the end.
Love,
~Jordan

I'd be more dissapointed in giving a top 5 pick to Anaheim, and it's gotta be nice as an Oilers fan to see the way the young guys have stepped up (Cogliano and Gagner) down the stretch with more playing time.
Yeah, it's cool to see the kids doing well (I'd add Brodziak, Glencross, and Pouilot to that list, and even a few others) but I don't know what the hell will happen next year when all of our "big guns" are (possibly) healthy. There are going to be some tough roster decisions, though it's still good that we might have a decent team in the future if we don't lose all of our prospects. As we tend to do.

i can't believe Kypreos said that Toskala prob did that on purpose.. to send a message to management that he needs a rest.

cratch:
Im pretty sure that last shot he took to the head really scrambled his brain, he's a tool.

I can believe it, it's Nick Kypreos.. I would be surprised if he offered any solid or intelligent insight about something hockey related. That kind of comment is par for the course for him.
