I've seen ads lately about it and just want to say that I'm kind of excited to see the All-star game back this year. It's been over 2 years since the last one - with last year being the olympics and that little lockout thing the previous year. Should be good. I saw that it's airing in primetime during the week this year though. Interesting.
Anyone know how they'll do it this year? Classic East vs. West? or North America vs. World..

I was looking through some old stat books this weekend. Did you know Probert made the all star team in 87-88 I think? He had 30 goals and 400 PIMs. Thats pretty sweet.

From what I know, they abandonned the joke format of N.America vs. World a few years back.
They're most likely going with West vs. East

They went back to East vs West in 2003.
Ottawa going for a third win in four games tonight vs. Minnesota.
GO SENS GO
Roenick's got a new excuse for last season. First it was a problem with his skates, but now he's saying that he intentionally showed up to camp out of shape to spite the NHL. Way to show 'em JR!

Quote:Kings fans get a chance to welcome the Coyotes' Jeremy Roenick back to Staples Center today.
Last season, Roenick became the poster boy for the Kings' collapse. He was acquired in a trade, showed up to training camp out of shape and finished with nine goals.
In a TV interview last month, Roenick said that he intentionally showed up out of shape to spite the NHL for the lockout. Tim Leiweke, the Kings' governor, declined to speculate whether Roenick should return some of the $4.94 million the Kings paid him to show up in shape.
"The Roenick experiment was bad for him and worse for us," Leiweke said. "The risk we took, and the money we paid, he did not take on the responsibilities we needed him to take on. It was a major disappointment. We've learned our lesson and moved on."
I can't wait to hear what his excuse is for this season (4 points, minus 9).
Roenick is such a jackass! What a friggin hack. Yeah, I can't wait for his excuse for this season. Maybe he's not trying because he's trying to let the other guys learn how to be good NHL players. He's being unselfish. :jump :jump :jump Between Roenick and Theo Fleury, it's difficult to find two bigger losers in any sport.
he's still playing ?
well, from the sounds of it, he's not really "playing", let me reprhase that...
he's still in the league?
good ole JR - my fav moment from 1996...
"I'd like to know where Patrick was in Game 3 probably up trying to get his jock out of the rafters."
"I cannot really hear what Jeremy says because I've got my two Stanley Cup rings plugging my ear."
oh and there is this too

My buddy asked me to go to that game with him and I had to decline cause I had to write a midterm. Too bad I missed it.
The next installment of the Battle of Alberta is tonight! Should be a great game. The Flames are on quite a roll, and the Oil will have to be at the top of their game if they want to win this one. They won't be able to simply pull a win out of their ass like they did against Detroit. I wonder how many temper tantrums will be thrown by Roloson tonight? Seems he spazzes out everytime a player touches him or when he gets scored on. It's quite hilarious.
