If you've ever played the game, you know how quickly things can and do happen. Now, multiply that quickness by 100, because the game happens a helluva lot faster in the NHL than it does in bantam. I simply can't imagine Moore having the time to think to himself "here's my chance to make a name for myself" in that split second (and remember, the 1,546,732 replays we saw of that hit were in slow motion).
is what Bertuzzi did acceptable? no? was it cheap? yes. BUT, if there hadn't have been a pile up , I don't think Moore would've been as seriously injured, and had he had not taken a cheapshot on Naslund himself, then the whole incident wouldn't have happened.

Even as a die-hard Leaf fan, I need to echo those sentiments. We can't seem to buy a win. The last half-dozen games have been somewhat disheartening.
Leafs are fine, they've just come back down to earth, after over-achieving for most of the season...it was bound to happen, don't forget, this wasn't a playoff team last year, and they're still overall on the season, doing better than most people expected i think...as long as it's just a little slump, and not a landslide of lost points, they'll be fine...that is to say, i still think they'll make the playoffs, but they can't let it get to far on them, because Ottawa and Boston are puring it on right now...

I don't think Habs fans should write such things ... when do the Habs come back to earth?
the habs are for real, if anything , they're underachieving right now IMO...
they could easily be where Buffalo is if they'd not lost games to teams like the Bruins, Panthers, Leafs, and Blackhawks (and even the first game of the season against the Sabres)...
all games they could've won too if they'd turned in a full 60 minute performance, rather than only 40-20 minute ones...
there's about 8 points that they could've added to the season total if they would've won the games i just mentioned...which would have them only one point behind the Sabres (Buffalo would have 42 points instead of 44), with a game in hand on them.
Higgins' return should be a huge boost too...although I must say, Gui has been doing a great job filling in for me...it worries me to think what will become of the lines when Higgins returns...they both seem to work so well with Koivu and Ryder...
Man, it was great to see Carolina get their asses handed to them by the Flames last night. Calgary's forecheck was insane, and the much talked about high-powered Carolina offence was nowhere to be seen. The Iginla/Langkow/Tanguay line is still lighting it up as usual. Iggy with his 300th assist last night, and he's closing in fast on 300 goals as well. Ya gotta love the guy.
Here's hoping the 'Canes spank the Oilers tonight. They're probably pissed after last night's loss.

w/e, i was just showing the difference between the leafs and habs this year, continue to be an ass about it if you'd like though, that's what you seem to do best in this thread.

Well if only the Sabres hadnt lost to the lowly caps and if we would had not lost to the sens twice a few weeks back and if only we could have gotten to that shootout with Montreal and won it then we would have 51 points. Well ahead of your Habs.
BTW I think its pretty reasonable to think that had Buffalo not had 4 of 6 defensemen go down in the playoffs we would have beaten Carolina. But you know what it didnt happen so oh well.
C'mon TDC, take it easy. The Canadiens aren't that good.
Thanks for nothing, Carolina.
God I hate the Oilers.
:x
tonight is a perfect example of what i was saying about Montreal...they had the lead going into the third, played a shitty 3rd period, took a penalty in the dying seconds of O.T., and squandered an oppertunity to get another point...
