that loss hurts...you can't blow a 2 goal lead going into the 3rd on home ice....this series should be tied going back to Anaheim...ouch :x :x :nooooo :nooooo :censored :censored

you think that's bad, i'm pretty sure it's him calling Semin: "Semen", on my NHL 2k7 haha.

...wow, when I went to bed it was 2-0 in the third and I assumed the series would be tied this morning. Whoops!

It's a shame, too, because as much as I hate the 'Nucks, I hate the ducks even more.

GO BUFFALO AND/OR OTTAWA!

tigerthelion Wrote:I can't tell if you are being serious. I'll assume you are kidding. Alfredsson, in the third period, took the dive of the playoffs so far. It was worthy of a gold medal for sure. Fisher slew footed Marty Brodeur, with the most obvious goalie interference yet in the playoffs, which was mysteriously missed by the referees. Yeah, the Sens have it bad. Confusedcratch:

I'm not sure which 'dive' you are referring to. Is the dive Alfredsson took after Langenbruner stuck out his right leg (in the process, tripping him) to prevent an Ottawa short-handed 2 on 1 with a little less then 10 minutes left? Thats the only time I saw Alfredsson parallel to the ice in the third period.

Regarding the Fisher/Brodeur contact, it appeared incidental to me, and if it was, it isn't a penalty. Even it it wasn't incidental, both goalies were beneficiaries of more impeding contact then that a dozen times in the game; the only difference being, of course, that a goal was scored shortly after this contact, but that is irrelevant. Contact is contact (assuming it was intentional), and the referees set standards for the game.

And I'm not sure why you think Murray is any more aggressive then any of the other 29 coaches in the NHL. Based on what I have witnessed, nearly every coach in the NHL displays sporadic bouts of insanity, with both Ruff and Tortorello living in that state for nearly all sixty minutes of the game. I've never seen Murray anything but calm in post-game conferences or interviews.

Alfie clearly embellished that trip. He does it often. I watch hockey games and will call a spade a spade. I'm not biased (try not to be anyway)when it comes to hockey plays. I'll criticize a player for diving whether he is on Buffalo, Ottawa, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Anaheim, Detroit, etc. I've criticized Vancouver players for diving without hesitation. Hey, last night Sedin took a blatant dive which resulted in a penalty against Neidermeyer. Alfie took a dive. Most NHL players have been constantly diving in the playoffs. Alfie's dive on that play was pretty special.

You're an Ottawa fan so I can at least understand your bias and the reason for your opinions on the incident. It was clearly goalie interference any way you slice it. You can't interfere with the goalie's attempt to save a shot. Fisher did it. He knows he got away with it. Bryan Murray's blatant lie about Fisher being pushed only further shows how unreasonable and ridiculous Ottawa's players and coaches are. As an Ottawa fan, deep down I am 100% sure that you know it should have been called. If it happened to Emery, you would be on here complaining about the non-call. That non call on Fisher is as relevant as it gets. It directly caused a goal. It doesn't get any more relevant than that. Any attempt to hide that fact is futile and ignorant.

Murray told a lie so out of this world that he takes the cake for coaches as far as being utterly stupendous. Fisher wasn't pushed into Brodeur. Why would Murray even think of that, let alone come out and say it? All people have to do is watch the play and see with their own eyes that Murray lied about the incident. Why lie? Why couldn't Murray just say "no comment" or "sometimes those plays get called, sometimes they don't"? Why did he just make up something fictional?

The Canucks deserved to lose. They don't have the grit and heart to close out a game. Naslund scored a goal but his leadership skills leave a lot to be desired IMO. Oh well. Pronger is a beast and once again proved why he is the best defenseman in the NHL. Lidstrom will win the Norris but it should be Pronger's. Lidstrom went years without winning and now he just wins every year regardless of his competition. Once again, Pronger should win the Norris and once again, the Canucks lack heart.

All reviews are done in Toronto. What does the game being in New York have to do with it? It's not like the referees make the call of goal or no goal. It's Mike Smith and his cronies in Toronto.

Well, at least you are now recognizing he was tripped. Perhaps he did embellish it (I'm not entirely convinced he did), but as you said, that is expected behaviour this time of the year. As for Alfredsson being classified as a 'diver', I guess we'll have to disagree on that one.

For the record, if it was incidental contact, it isn't a penalty (Brodeur's leg was out of his crease). Also, for the record, Bryan Murray never stated "Fisher was pushed into Brodeur", he claimed he was "directed". There is certainly a difference between the two, and the latter is nearly plausible after watching the replay. "Murray's blatant lie...shows how unreasonable and ridiculous Ottawa's players and coaches are"... that is an awfully bold statement considering you are basing it on one quote that you manufactured. If you could provide more evidence of how Ottawa's players and coaches are "unreasonable" and "ridiculous" I could begin to even think about the possibility of entertaining that idea. But as it stands, I'll just ignore it.

Also, the fact that a goal was scored following the play is, in fact, irrelevant. How can you justify the referees making, or breaking calls based on what follows in the play? If that was a penalty, it should have been called (along with the other 16,723 times incidental contact has been made with a goaltender in these playoffs). It was a hockey play, the same play that happens in every game, and it go's uncalled 95% of the time.

you don't piss off a New York crowd at MSG...Colin Cambell has a lot of ties with the Rangers..Rangers are good for ratings on NBC....enough reasons?

Doesn't the puck have to completely cross the line? I didn't see it completely cross the line, I saw no white ice between the puck and the goal line. The majority of the puck was over the line but to me it didn't look like it was completely over.
If that's your reasoning (not wanting to piss off a MSG crowd, and Colin Campbell's ties to the Rangers)...then why was Karel Rachenuk's goal in game 3 at MSG not allowed??
