You're right. Sakic is quietly having a very good year. Speaking of great years, what about Lecavalier? 2nd in the NHL in points and 1st in goals with 39, a full five ahead of the next guy.

I think Buffalo has the depth and the coaching to pull it off, it'll probably be like when Spezza went out for the sens and they starting playing their best hockey of the season. I actually think Buffalo would wipe out Anaheim or Nashville in a Stanley Cup final situation...what sucks is that you're going to have to give up Briere or Drury at season's end.

You think Briere will take a 1 million dollar pay cut? Since he is on a one-year deal, and with how he is playing this year, I don't think he will settle for anything less than 5 million (ie. what he is making now). And Buffalo is already pressed against the cap. The cap is going up, but you have so many players that are signed to multi-year contracts, where they will be making more money next year. Just send Briere or Drury to my Senators

HA! Nice wishful thinking. Briere is going to get $7 mil on the open market easy, and Drury won't be getting much less than that.
I think both Drury and Briere could be had for about 6 mil each if they sign before hitting the open market.

Just caught the last 2 minutes of the Flames game last night. Was I pissed at Amonte. Out there with the tender pulled about 30 seconds left and the puck is rimmed so he lazily pokes his stick at it, misses it and it clears the zone then the Flames regroup pass it to Amonte again so he can cough the puck up at the Avs blue line and end the game. Fuckin guy. And Joe Sakic quietly climbs the all time scoring ladder. Think he is 10th right now and should be closing in on 8th by seasons end. :thumb:
Yeah, Linden and Morrison pretty much add nothing to the team. I truly believe that I could fill in for them and the team wouldn't miss a beat. It sure would be nice if the Canucks could score on, ya know, A HACK LIKE LALIME!

Morrison has 6 shootout goals so that's basically all he does. I was shocked when Linden was picked to shoot first and even more shocked when he scored.
