And trust me... NOBODY wants that! That's almost cruel and inhuman punishment!
if you really want to punish him...make him cheer for a crappy expansion team...in a "non-hockey" town...
a really embarassingly bad franchise with a history of dissapointing year in a and out...
like THE SENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahahahahahahahaha
anyone hear that "cup will never come to Ottawa" song? it's great haha.
Ladies and gentlemen, your Philadelphia Flyers!
With the free-agent season about to open on Sunday, the second-highest-paid player right now is defenceman Kimmo Timonen of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Oh, it gets
better.

Wow...this is why the flyers are right now one of the saddest and more pathetic franchises in the league.
Anybody have any new info on the new RBK jersey changes that are gonna be out there. I googled it and found this from a Wings fan that has the new Capitals jersey : http://letsgowings.com/forums/?showtopic=44036 , and the Bruins site says they are getting a new logo but no pix other than statioary w/ the name and a bruin under it. Also heard (a couple months ago) the Sabres are changing the blue in the jersey to a slightly different shade.
****EDIT*** the Caps site show the jerseys
i should really look before i type. a few of the teams have the logo changes on thier sites. never mind
So ... how about those ... um ... Kansas City Predators??
Man, the NHL really has a hate on for adding any more Canadian teams.

Kansas City has a long and proud NHL history. Who can forget the Scouts?

Personally, I'm excited. I have my doubts that the city can support a team (either NHL or NBA long-term), but it'll be fun while it lasts. And at least we're not stealing a team with Canadian bloodlines.
p.s. The early rumor is the team name would be the Monarchs -- a nod to one of the great Negro League teams ever and along the same theme of the Chiefs and the Royals.
I believe this is simply more posturing on Liepold's part to put pressure on Balsillie to get the deal done. The report that ran in the Post this morning, which was later picked up by the sports networks, is just that - a report.
From the
Globe:
A source familiar with the negotiations confirmed that Predators owner Craig Leipold has told Balsillie's lawyers that he is considering a bid from William "Boots" Del Biaggio, unless Balsillie meets new conditions.
Just because he's still talking to Boots doesn't mean Balsillie is out of the picture. Money usually ends up winning in these situations, and considering Balsillie is offering about $50 million more than the KC group, I'd say he's still got to be considered the front-runner.
This has to be some of the worst public posturing in the history of public posturing. So, to recap, Leipold supposedly broke off talks with Balsillie because he was - uh - "shocked" that Balsillie wanted to move the team to Hamilton......so now he's supposedly going to take less money (after supposedly losing a crapload while owning the Preds) to let the team move to KC.
Yeah. OK.
This a typical bullshit move by the NHL and its brass

Yeah. OK.
And I'm sure that Gary Bettman had absolutely
nothing to do with this chain of events...
Watching Hockey Central @ Noon on Rogers Sportsnet. Doug Farraway, the host, is from Hamilton and is a passionate man about hockey possibly coming to his home town. Obviously, he's upset about Kansas City news.
Anyway, he just read an e-mail from Mike in Buffalo, who is a Sabres fan. It read: "4 words! 'Stop Your Complaining!'".
Good lunch time chuckle.

Hey, we know that Mike!
Sure it wasn't from Mick in Chicago???
