He's horrible eh? And it's not like he does a ton of Leaf games, so I'm not sure why he'd consistently make the mistake. I mean if Harry Neale was doing a 'nucks game I could understand it......but Millen?!?
Cherry was in fine form last night too. Apparently the reason the Leafs aren't a playoff team is because Alexander Steen (son of former Jet Thomas Steen) shared a laugh with Robert Nilsson (son of former Flame Kent Nilsson) during the Friday night Isles/Leafs game. Yeah, THAT's the reason.
Of course earlier this season Cherry said that Steen had no business being in the NHL. Yet the only Leaf forwards with more points than Steen (a rookie) this season are named Sundin, Allison, and Tucker.
i'm starting to think that CBC shouldn't even carry hockey anymore..they're a joke..they have shitty coverage, their high def compared to other networks is bush league, the commentators are either senile or ignorant...jeez..i could go on all day

then stop watching, and stop bitching about it...BE GLAD THAT HOCKEY IS BACK PEOPLE! "it's all about the game" - Lemmy.
BE GLAD THE THE HABS ARE BACK! sad to see my boy Jose traded, but he wasn't living up to expectations, or his salary, so he had to go, he'll be a good fit in Colorado i think. "Hab"isher ain't too shabby, and Huet's been incredible so far, so i'm not too concerned, especially with Yan and Carey Price waiting in the wings. Ryder needs to step it up, he's been in a bit of a funk, Plekcanek and Higgins have been playing really well lately IMO, and all that the habs have to do now is keep the ball rolling, a win on Monday against Tampa Bay could go a long way towards cementing a spot in the playoffs. Hopefully we'll be able to catch the devils and face the Rangers in the first round...iIMO Montreal can beat Ottawa or Buffalo too, the only team that worries me is Carolina, but they haven't faced Huet yet this year, so you never know...playoff races are sweet this year, East and West, we're gettin right down to the wire, and other than first place in each, i don't think anything's for sure yet.

I actually don't mind their high def - but I do think it is jarring when they go from high def in the early game to regular broadcasting in the late game. Do they only have one set of high def cameras? I hope they get some more for the playoffs.

yeah..i'm not sure why they only one set of high def cameras..but compared to the sportsnet high def, the cbc, in my opinion, is nowhere near as good
I think the Canucks will probably sneak into the playoffs but the outlook looks bleak.
Ron Maclean was once again in fine form by saying Ovechkin is good but Crosby is his pick for ROY.

hock:

hock: The ROY award isn't based on who might be better in a year or two, it's who had the best season. What has Crosby done better than Ovechkin this season to justify giving him the award? Things can change if Ovechkin goes into a slump but as of now I don't know how any reasonable person can rate Crosby above Ovechkin based on their play this season.
The more I see the Canucks the more I'm impressed with the Sedins. I have long called them the Sedin sisters but they were the best players on the ice for Vancouver once again Saturday night. It'd really be nice if Bertuzzi, Naslund, and Morrison showed up a little more. It would also be nice if Matt Cooke didn't play like such a coward.

cratch: Also, it would be nice if Jim Hughson didn't call EVERY SINGLE SAVE by the goalie a GREAT SAVE!!!! :x :x
the canucks really should clean house at the end of the year...that means the entire "top line" goes...morrison, naslund and bert...gone...the sedins and carter are not only producing, they're showing effort, something those other 3 aren't..i'm happy with Auld as our goalie of the future, clouts goes...i'm not sure what they're going to do with our D-men..i'm assuming they'll try to keep Jovo...cooke i don't mind Tiger, although he's dried up point wise as well...in a way it would be good for the team to miss the playoffs so management really sees how shitty they are...i'm not sure why most people still think they'll get in..anaheim has 3 games in hand, and are only four or five points behind...

Do you think the Sedins will be as productive as the "top" line, if Nazzy, Bert, and Mo all go? One of the benefits of being the second line is that you don't see the top D on the other team. I'm just wondering if they'd be able to maintain their production if they were the true #1 unit. Also, isn't Carter an unrestricted free agent? I'm sure there will be some GM out there who throws a ridiculous amount of money his way. Of course if the 'nucks are able to clear Bertuzzi off the books (good luck!), it could be them.
Gotta agree with you tiger - anyone who says Crosby is ROY over Ovechkin is exhibiting pure Canadian bias. I think the most telling comparison is that Crosby has been in on 39% of Pittsbugh goals. For Ovechkin that figure is 46%. To put that in context, Jagr has been in on 47% of Ranger goals.
i think they could still be as productive..they've seen a lot of top d-men this year...and i believe that the nucks will keep carter around...and you know there's a GM out there dumb enough to take bert...

Let's all pray for that.

Too bad Keenan didn't bite on Bertuzzi. Florida has some nice players that Bert could have fetched. I heard a rumour about Florida offering Horton and draft picks. I'd be happy with Horton and Bouwmeester.

I say let Jovo walk if I'm Nonis. Frankly, he's just not worth the money he'll be asking for IMO. Nonis did a HELL OF A GREAT THING when he got rid of Sopel. Hopefully he isn't stupid and doesn't break the bank for Jovo.
i'd be happy to see Bertuzzi in Montreal, all depends on the price/trade though.

Really? Even after the stigma that will follow him around after "the incident" and his lack of production this year?
Well, in all of my whining about JFJ not doing anything with the Leafs at the trade deadline, I should be thankful that he didn't trade away a 1st round pick for Dwayne Roloson. Be afraid Oiler fans. Be very afraid.

LOL, no kidding. From what I heard, he stunk up the joint AGAIN tonight against Minny. That makes him 0-3 so far as an Oiler. I shouldn't make too much fun of the Greasers though, because unless my Flames start scoring some freakin' goals, we're gonna be gone in the first round. There's no question we've got the goaltending and the defence needed to go all the way, but our offence is really struggling. That game against the Avs today was embarrasing. So many great scoring chances and they just couldn't bury any of them. It's just so god damn frustrating.
:nooooo
Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff's daughter Madeleine was recently found to have a "mass" about the size of a quarter on her brain.
Lindy may miss some games/practices.
Good luck Madeleine!
