MAv, you definetly picked the highlight from that bootleg. The two night stint at the Fillmore in 2002 are two of my favourites. Eldorado is one of my favourites!
great version of Eldorado
everytime I hear that song I feel like having a cold one.... :thumb:
The utter obscureness of this song has just hit me again after going on hiatus for a year or two: What the heck is a "Man-Sized Eldorado?"
El Dorado was a mythical lost Mayan (or Incan or Aztec or something) city of gold, so I assume the man-sized version is a very special person. Or something? Frankly I've never really thought about it that hard, and just made that explanation up right now.

It relates to a mystical person/place - wiki says
El Dorado (Spanish for 'the golden one') is a legend that began with the story of a South American tribal chief who covered himself with gold dust and would dive into a lake of pure mountain water.

so me thinks the song downsizes (rescales) it to the more common thought of ones home (as personal empire) or the individual (man-sized) as a unique empire with common wants/needs
And tired about thinking of drinking
And tired of loving, recovering, loving

But uniquely mythical nonetheless

like daylight - not sure if I believe what I just wrote but WTF
- Buffalo buffalo
I always thought he was talking about this....

I'm with you Esthete..
i`m sure that car is worth some mega bucks, but my god, is it homely or what? can anyone picture themselves driving it?
I've never heard a live version of Eldorado. Sounds amazing.
Thanks.

It doesn't get much more man sized than the '59 Eldorado, especially with the all hardwood interior package. Making it smell like coffee was entirely left up to the owner as it was dealer installed.
Great choice there, MAv! Big Grin I've never heard a live version of 'El Dorado' before :thumb:

It was also a God-awful TV series on BBC 1 in the early nineties...

*shudders*
Mean Streak makes it's debut on the Song of the Day :thumb:

Nice choice MAv! The Wasaga Beach show was a great concert!
Wow, I kind of forgot about Mean Streak. This live version is haunting. Nice pick again Mr. MAv!

Dude! The 1959 pink Cadillac Eldorado! An American legend.

I think it's sweet. But I guess I really couldn't see myself driving that particular sled.

But I can picture myself in this bad boy:

Realy, really, really, REALLY good version of Meanstreak! Thanks MAv, keep the rarities coming - howz about an extremely obscure version of All Tore Up OR Heart of the Melt please :o)
