I've been waiting to hear a live version coconut cream forever. Not quite what i expected. Nice departure from the album version. Great to hear this finally.
Will someone explain to me why they don't like this song? I'm not one of those people who likes every song a band puts out just because THEY put it out. But I do like this song quite a bit. Maybe it's just Man-Sized who voices his disdain for the tune but I'm pretty sure he's not alone.

Will someone kindly let me in on why?

Again, just curious.

I can only speak for myself because I really don't know what other people's reasons are for not liking the song. Actually, I didn't know so many others thought it wasn't their best work until I heard an interview with I think it was Paul and he said that the band felt so sorry for CC because it came last in the voting for Hipeponymous.

To me, the song means nothing. I am not a big fan of it lyrically, which is usually what draws me to a Hip song. I also don't like the melodies between Gord and Paul - they seem very "pop-ish." It was always just a song that was in between Apartment Song and Let's Stay Engaged that I always used to skip over.

I would also be interested in hearing why others didn't like it.
I actually have always dug this tune...don't know why...I have no idea what the lyrics are about, though circle jerks and canons shooting white cream kind of made me not want to know....but I like the riff and I like the vocal melodies.....cool choice MAv
Fantastic version of Cordelia! Thanks MAv :thumb:
ya Great version of Cordelia, Thanks MAv
MAv -

Cordelia...finally! Still one of my favorite tunes 15 years later, thanks!

IOD, Gems, Coconut Cream, Yawning or Snarling, Apartment Song, Put it Off, Opiated, NOIS @ MSG, So Hard Done By, Locked, Thugs...ridiculous!

Thanks again for these daily treats.

Cordelia was part of the SotD already on March 2nd...did you miss it the first time around?

I am certainly not looking a gift horse in the mouth (I don't think I have ever used that phrase before?? :? ) but I am hoping MAv that you have some different stuff for us in the upcoming weeks.

Looking forward to what you are cookin' up for us...

*EDIT: Another version of Opiated today. It's really got the clarity in Gord's vocals and the beefed-up twang in Robbie's guitar that I remember from the 2000 tours.

Nice choice MAv.
Fantastic choice today MAv. I've forever loved Opiated! Great version.
"This is for my drug-buddy."
WOW! I didn't realize they played that as late as 2000!
I love THAT song, Let's hear it next tour.

Well... Smile

-The circle jerk references are foolish for one.
-The main riff just became boring to me after a while. Usually the more I listen to a Hip song the more I like it but not with CC.
can anyone confirm....

is Opiated still up or has it changed? i've cleared my cache, etc and still see Opiated from Sudbury

or since today's a holiday, treat it like the weekend and expect an update on Monday?
It's a holiday! Holiday = weekend!
thought so, thanks Sean
