direwolf74 Wrote:The only low point for me are Gord's lyrics, which are some of his weakest in my opinion and somewhat silly, but the music more than makes up for it.
I guess it should come as no surprise that I think lyrics are the least-essential component of rock music. Not vocals, mind you, but lyrics.
direwolf74 Wrote:Steve Berlin's production on that track is probably the best I've ever heard on a Hip album. I don't know if it was microphone placement or what, but it almost sounds like it was done completely live.
I think you hit it right on the head -- mic placement for the drums has to be what's most responsible for giving that track that incredible 'off-the-floor' feel. The bass / guitar choices (including effects & amps), PLU the mixing of those tracks is clutch, too.

So glad to finally see a SOTD from this show. It was a good one.

And now I'm confused. TLEOTR led off this show, then it goes into NOIS? NOIS was near the end of the main set. MAv, did you put songs together but not in order?

Maybe the show is mislabeled? This sounds like one of the shows where the Hip opened for the Who.

I think you're right - that's happened before. It must be the show where they opened for The Who at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indy.
This has been the SOTD before, and the same mistake was made.
Great three songs from Brockville last year on the SOTD today. Thanks, MAv.
One request, if at all possible: three pistols from Ottawa, February 2nd 2007. The mix on the bootleg is quite odd, but I remember the sound at the show being ace, so I'm curious to hear what it really sounds like. Again, if at all possible.
Great SOTD today

Tryin to find a fan recording now!
It would be sweet if we got to hear some Bathouse I&I recordings for SOTD in the future

First of the new SotD's! Unfortunately it is skipping for me. Anyone else experiencing this?

It's not a remix, it's actually a Max Headroom cover.
