The other beauty of the album was the tour that supported it.

BRING BACK "AN EVENING WITH" !!! PLEASE !!!!

I think I am in the minority when I say I would much rather of had the Evening With tour without Kate & Chris. They are fine musicians, and this isn't any sort of slight towards them, but I didn't care for the dynamic they added. Perhaps it's somewhat selfish on my part as well, in that I when I go to a Hip concert I really only want to see the Hip (as the headliners...I always want to see the opening act). I do agree about that tour though, and I absolutely loved the quality and quantity of the songs they played.

Agreed.
Ooooh...hadn't heard this one in a while...nice one!
Nice version of Membership today MAv!

I've been keeping track of what songs you've been posting, and I realized that Thursday will be the 50th Song of the Day....Perhaps 50 Mission Cap would be a fitting tune to celebrate! :thumb:

I can respect that opinion -- it's "purist", and normally I share it.

But I loved having Kate & Chris along for the ride. The keys are a terrific compliment to the Hip's material (I'd like to see more)....

....but hearing Fenner's sultry pipes behind Gordie's was incredible. No offense to Paul (whose patented 'whine' has its place as part of the Hip's signature sound), but hearing backing vocals of superb tonal quality really added something substantial, IMO....

You know what, it was Kate that I disliked, not the keyboards. I did like the added dimension they brought. Once again, I'm not knocking her and her talent one bit, I just prefer to only hear the Gords and Paul singing.
love this version of membership!! great stuff!

wow, I'm of the exact opposite opinion...loved having Kate on stage (just for the change it brought...especially on flamenco, pigeon camera and a couple others..), but I didn't like the keys...I'm just not a fan of keyboards at all...I don't like that PJ have 'em, and I didn't really dig the hip using 'em...except for tiger the lion of course......

Billy, I agree with you 100%. At the time I thought the addition of Kate's vocals was great, but now going back and listening to those shows, for the most part it just doesn't seem like it fits right. (Flamenco is a notable exception.) It was an interesting experiment, but I definitely prefer the familiar voices of the Gords and Paul. However, I did like Chris' keyboards, as I thought they added an extra dimension to some of the songs.
Thanks for Membership MAv.... one of my faves from PP! Just love the tone of Gord's voice in this tune....it's almost mesmerizing.
great choice MAv, definitely my favorite of the few I've heard so far.

looking at the full list, I regret not being around between March 7-16. Those are some gems.

Nice stats! I always love when someone summarizes all this stuff! Makes you think just a little more!

Thanks.
Thanx Tony.
I am kinda not surprised to see The Henhouse tour being featured so much.
It is still my favorite tour.
