Hey MAv,
Are there any plans for new Songs of the Day? Maybe some from the summer '11 tour?
The last new SotD was nearly 2 months ago.....
Todays SOTD is Eldorado from 4/18/2009 at The Bathouse
I am not sure if this is finally a new SOTD or not.
Eldordao at The Bathouse was released once before - but that was during rehearsals for the Movie Theatre/Bathouse thing and this date listed is a couple of weeks later.
I haven't had a chance to listen to both to compare.

Great rantish Fully today from 2002..."This apartment will not hold two, Being me is a two person job"
Hey MAv,
Has the SotD feature gone the way of Live from the Vault?
A total of 20 new SotD songs in 2011, 0 for 2012.
Thanks MAv!

lol...I think the thread should be changed to Song of the Year at this rate. One new SotD for 2012
Hey MAv, is the SoundCloud account replacing thehip.com's SotD feature going forward?

Well, after a few years of Hang on to Yourself as the Song of the Day, MAv posted a new live track via Soundcloud to the Hip's facebook page the other day.
I checked, and this wasn't used as a previous SOTD, so here's hoping for some type of resurrection of what was a fun ride.

The Hipbase Live Hip Archive is a truly awesome resource - a bit chaotic in places but so much amazing material - Between February 10 2006 and June 6 2008 David Bastedo hand picked 323 Tragically Hip Song Of The Day files and posted them on The Hip’s website. Most are single songs from all different places and years. There are also a couple full shows. All these files can be found on the Hipbase Live Hip Archive in FLAC format but I decided to upload a file of these songs converted to mp3 and all in one folder for anyone interested. It is a pretty awesome instant mix of amazing sounding live tracks for anyone wanting to check it out. I recommend putting them all in one Playlist and hit shuffle for just over 30 hours of awesomeness.

Holy crap, this must have taken a lot of work. Thank you kindly!

This is awesome -- thanks so much!!!
After all these years. I spent a lot of time back then recording them in low quality mp3s as they streamed, but I had nowhere near a complete collection.
I was in high school when these started. I would literally wake up, see if the website was updated, then use an "All Sound Recorder" to capture the mp3 while I got ready for the day. Then I would run the mp3 through Audacity and edit it down, then I'd load it to my iPod so that I would have the Song-Of-The-Day every day. I rarely missed a day. I also pretty much harassed Dave into posting songs from Saint John 2004. He eventually put up the whole show.
I haven't gone through these in a while. I should definitely get these back on my listening device.
