another cool choice MAv....i'm loving some of the more obscure songs... keep it up!

Not to come across like an whiney ingrate...seeing as it is the song of the *day* and all...but what happened to The New Maybe demo? I could listen to other previous tracks, but that appeared to be missing today...

i've never been able to listen to previous songs of the day..guess you were lucky there for awhile

The Apartment Song? Very cool. I always thought this was an underrated gem from the boys. The bass groove is simple yet especially wicked during the "horrible esthete" sections.

Agreed. Nice call. That riff you are talking about during the chorus is sweet. TATH is filled with great bass hooks....they aren't overwhelmingly groundbreaking in terms of technical composition, but they just come off sounding cool as hell, which is all that matters, of course. Plus, it seems that the bass lines are more crucial to the overall feel / flow / mood of many of the songs on this album as compared to other albums. Let's Stay Engaged has that sweet "gurgly" lead bass track lain over another more subtle, muted bass line...Don't Wake Daddy is sheer power , with some very catchy improvizations towards the end of the cut (during the "it's the perfect time now" jam)....the bass lines Sherpa are simply beautiful....Flamenco wouldn't be so hypnotizing without that velvety-smooth bass line....Butts Wigglin' seems to be entirely written around the the bass... i could go on....

I still maintain that GS is a terribly underrated bassist (I don't even hear too many Hip fans singing his praises). He accounts for more of this band's identity than I think he gets credit for.....

Unfortunately I have yet to hear one of these songs. I can't play them at work, and only get online late at night after all the "stuff" gets done around the house. Being that our computer room is right beside where our daughter sleeps, I can't turn my speakers on. I suppose I could listen with headphones on, but I have yet to do that and probably won't.

I wish the songs could be downloaded at the end of the week like a podcast, so I could at least listen to them on my MP3 player, but I can see how the band might not like that option.
