wow, what a great version of 100th meridian. I love the Chagrin Falls interlude in the middle. This song had it all, great rants, early versions of Vapour Trails, Chagrin Falls, early microphone stand hostility, and this line: "I'd like to thank the Mutton Birds cause they're so fuckin cool" Thank you MAv.
that whole show is pretty killer
f'n brilliant choice today MAv....what a great version.....man I miss some of the old Gordie randomness sometimes.....I know it hasn't completly dissappeared, but it ain't like it used to be....(not meant as whining, just an observation made while listening to some of the great old tracks MAv has been sharing...)..... THUS, all the more reason I'm pumped about the prospect of getting my grubby paws on some amazing boots in the future...
When hasn't there been a brilliant choice? Honestly... as Hipfans, we will love whatever he dishes out.
This even includes Coconut Cream. If that was song of the day I guarentee there would be some converts!

Don't be silly Trevor! Wildebeast is the name of a roller coaster at Wonderland... I think Wendy works at an amusement park... perhaps she played Escape while you were on the ride???
Oh, that's funny stuff. Especially since her we do not speak of is obviously still lurking about the Base.
i totally missed the wendy comment, good chuckle outta that one

Even though it wasn't the first
ever performance of Escape, I need to tell you that it
was played:
November 29th, 1996
Corel Centre
Kanata Ontario
1st Encore
Right after Wheat Kings
About 45 seconds into the song Gord says: "This song is called Bewilderbeast."
Now I know Gord does stuff like that but previously in the set, Gord can be heard ranting "Escape is at hand for the Travellin' Man..." So I would kinda think that they weren't calling it that yet and Gord was testing out some names and lyrics for the song.
...See! I
CAN'T let things go! :?
LOL, I've been to the Stubbs BBQ Waller Creek Ampitheater! Fun song today MAv. Thanks!
sweet all tore up!
this song is great -- I only wish the recorded version ended about a minute earlier....
Some incredible lyrics in this song!
Thanks Mav!!!
One of my faves off IVL, thanks MAv :thumb:
Sweet ass!!!!! I was at that show!!! Austin is so cool. Great choice MAv!!!!!1
Thanks MAv, love hearing tunes from the smaller American venues... :thumb:
Am I the only one who finds it weird that Blow At High Dough hasn't been the song of the day yet?
How and/or why is that weird? If you look at the catalogue there are 122(ish) studio tunes, plus multitudes of alternate versions. Yes, Blow has been played live almost countless times, but I don't think that makes it a shoe in for song of the day.
