MAverick Wrote:Edward_K Wrote:the new songs. both amazing. opposite sides of the pendulem. the new CD will be amazing.
"Love is a First" - reminds me a bit of the tune "I'm an adult now" from the band 'pursuit of happiness'...but with a cool quotient; and perhaps a little of "The drug is Ready" from the Henhouse. I recall 'The drug is Ready' was the first tune off of the henhouse due to it being in the movie from the 'kids in the hall'...but my recollection may be incorrect as I smoked my body-weight in dope during the ol' university days. Happy times.
Morning Moon - love it and reminds me of nothing i have heard...I'd love to hear the acoustic intro blown into a tune...a kind of wind down the pines little diddy
---long time lurker and was a member of the old henhouse forum many years ago...been to about 25 shows in Canada and US and book some business meetings around their shows. I've met all of the band on different occasions and great, down to earth lads.
I am sure I have met many on this forum as well...and look forward to (re)introducing myself at some of the upcoming shows.
I'll tell you about a flight from LA to Toronto where Dan Akroyd was sitting beside me...we chatted over many vinos for 4 hours and the main topic was hockey, SNL, and of course, Das Hip...cool guy btw.
Salut to all and can't wait for more gems by the worlds greatest band!
Cheers, EK
Welcome back. MAv.
Yeah, welcome back...from a fellow ex-Henhouser.
I'll add my love for Morning Moon and the CD artwork.
Can't wait to hear the rest of We Are The Same!
Another pre-order option:

No bonus anything, but $14 US, and with a Prime membership, it's on your doorstep the next day!
Im really leaning towards just buying it off of the Giftshop and getting the free Live from the Vaults 94 show included on CD with it.
But then upon check out the total was just over $20. Im thinking the usuall cd only cost around $10 or $11 now days so after shipping and handeling the free from the vaults CD is not really free at all.
Four weeks today!!!!

Found this little tidbit on
triplearadio.com today...
Quote:Impacting March 23-24:
ANDY CHURCH "Sleeping In The Van" (independent)
COURTNEY FAIRCHILD "Circles" (Courtneyfairchild.com
ERIC LINDELL "If Love Can't Find A Way" (Alligator)
JANA MASHONEE "A Change Is Gonna Come" (Miss Molly Records)
THE FREDDIE JONES BAND "Home Things" (OTB Records)
THE TRAGICALLY HIP "Morning Moon" (Zoë/Rounder)
WALTER TROUT "The Outsider" (Provogue)
So, maybe the label is making a decent push for "Morning Moon" as a radio single on "Adult Album Alternative" stations in the U.S. Hoping someone with a background in radio can explain whether this means much of anything?
I dont know about you guys, but both songs are growing on me tremendously fast in a positive way. I find this change alot better than WC...though i cant comment to much on that based on the fact that ive only heard two songs from WATS

Yeah I am really curious about what this means.
If you haven't checked your email, it looks like WATS is coming out on vinyl!
Very excited by the prospect of having the album on vinyl... now I just have to find a source for the old albums on vinyl!
Only 19 more sleeps until We Are the Same!!!

i think i've figured out why i (others as well?) am extra anxious and excited about this album's release. tracks from each of the last several albums have been played live prior to the album's release. it kind of eased fans into the new tracks. after all, nobody is going to get scared that the hip are changing their sound or mellowing out or anything like that if the first time they hear a new track is live, sandwiched between two classics.
i think the new album is going to be great and that any dressed up/layered studio tracks will have way more of a classic hip feel when we get to hear them live... the only difference this time is that we'll have to wait until after the album is released
so im not sure if anyone has realized that the album leaked a day ago, obviously im not saying where or how but its out there for those in the know. and of course im NOT promoting piracy, i already have a pre-order from itunes and two vinyl copies (one to open and one to stay sealed like all my other hip records).
anyways, after spending a good day with the album and about 20 listens, i can safely say that this album has some of the most beautiful, mellow and interesting lyrical content ive ever heard from the boys. there are only a few "rocking" tunes here but who cares, this is going to be my perfect summer album.
9.5/10
A leak? seriously?
Just as a reference point -- what on 0 do you rate the other albums?
