Is that speculation or official? Did he also contribute to the album?
I am pretty sure Bryson is not on WATS. But I would love him on tour with The Hip. I thought Chris Brown added such a great dimension to the songs during that tour I would love a keyboard for any Hip tour.
Play Count: 34
I love Morning Moon.

das_hips Wrote:I wasn't sure if this was going to be released as the first single from the new album. Traditionally the "New Album News" e-mail has indicated the first single, and it's release date to radio. But given that it is streaming on their website, and I've already heard it on two radio stations in Ottawa, I'm going to assume it is the first single.
I was, though, personally hoping for a more upbeat rocker to hit the radio first.
Morning Moon is not the first single. According to Power 97, the first single will be "
Love Is a First" hitting national airwaves on February 27th!
Question? Are radio stations not aloud to play Morning Moon?
A station in St Catharines gave an update on the release (which we already know) and played what they said was 30 seconds and to go to hip.com to hear the full version.
Just wondering...

If I am not mistaken, it was not released anywhere except the stream, so unless they grabbed that...
I'm in Ottawa where Jim Bryson is also from. Through "friends of friends" I've heard he's gone to T.O. to begin rehearsals with the band. Am I 100% sure - no. But, I'm pretty confident that the info is accurate.
Remember, Bryson has toured with Kathleen Edwards so maybe that's where the connection started with the Hip.
Cheers
all i have to say about morning moon is WOW WOW WOW
can this band do no wrong? seriously. i mean...just im speechless. their music conveys such strong emotions and ive never had such a strong connection to music as i have with the hips music. i cannot wait to listen to this song and the whole album while up in algonquin park this summer. camping + the hip = true canadiana
i ripped the stream and ive been jamming it on my iphone all day now, quality isnt perfect but the song is.
april 7th cannot come fast enough

ME!!! I don't like it.
P.S.. View isn't that great in the scope of all Hip songs but it's better than MM. And Good Life is 50 times better than both of them!
IVL is the best album, I don't know why it doesn't get a lot of love from fans or even the band.
Honestly, I hope that WATS isn't over produced like WC was. Don't get me wrong, I loved WC, but In View, Last Night I Dreamed & World Container were all overproduced, and all of them definitely sounded better live than in studio.
Morning Moon is over produced IMO. Sometimes I wish Rock would let the boys just get together, just the five of them without pianos, keyboards or violins, and let them rock out.
Sometimes, less is more. :thumb:
Yeah well that's what Bob Rock is known for; overproducing so it looks like it came off an assembly line... That and becoming a part of the band and shoving his nose into places it doesn't belong, unable to just sit back and produce an album.
Can you tell I'm a die hard Metallica fan? lol

I heard Morning Moon on two Ottawa radio stations on Thursday. Both The Bear, err, Virgin Rock, and Chez 106 were playing it. That's why I was posting the question.

That pleases me somewhat. I do like the song, but I don't think it's the best choice for a first single.
I'm excited to hear love is a first -- I really hope its a good one, because I am pretty sure it was cut off WC...maybe reworked?
Also, is that a violin I hear in Morning moon...at the 'bulb and the mirror' part?

I believe it's a cello.
