That's a late show in Watertown - start time 9PM!
I am originally from Watertown - grew up with the Hip as 'soundtrack of my life'.....Currently reside in Charlotte, NC. have seen the HIP in small clubs all over NC. 200 people in the crowd. Saw them in Buffallo at HSBC arena - 20,000 people in the crowd...the fact that they are actually playing Watertown is astounding to me- Got my tickets today (presale) & it seems so surreal that they will be playing their songs with Watertown as a backdrop....I can't wait for that weekend. My Deceased Best Friend's memorial golf tournament is the next day....he's the one that got me listening to the HIP....it is just to perfect...
This is a BIG deal for Watertown & my circle of friends I grew up with there....I wish the band could know how massively cool this is!
got the tix... wonder how big of a deal the reserved standing will be... how many of these tix were there?

2500 reserved tickets are being sold, but if you are going to pay $66 for tickets you might as well spring for the extra $10 and get reserved.

i called yesterday and they told me 2000 reserved and 7000 are being sold total. i thought that was kind of a low number being the hip but it is watertown so who knows. i still cant believe this is happening. just got my tickets Smile
so its still gona be a bit of a crowd... hoping for a low number of drunks... prolly not gona happen but i well... HIP HIP
Reserved sold out in 3 hours...wow!
I still have not received an email verification or anything of the like - called DPAO - they did verify ticket purchase....said it would be a few days until orders were processed.

CAN'T WAIT, CAN'T WAIT!!!!

HIP HIP HIP
According to fm96 in London, the headlong act for rock in the park on July 23 is "bigger" than stone temple pilots, who are headlining on the 21st. My guess is the hip, who headlined this show in '09.

that's the line up i would have rather seen for the canada day gig in downsview park
having said that i think all of the hip's 2011 opening bands are a+ , so far
they need to bring wintersleep on board
It is probably too much of a physical strain, but I would love to see soloists Langlois, Downie and Baker alternate opening spots on the next tour.
I never really understood why, during the "encore cover tunes" portion of the IBE tour, that they never played any solo material.
Bullet Proof White Limo would have been great.

Good idea. One thing I've noticed though from seeing each of the guys in their solo project (okay, just Downie and Baker) is that they tend to keep the Hip separate from their other gig. I'd be really surprised (pleasantly) if they ever pulled out something from their other "projects" in a Hip show. You certainly hear sounds from each of them though.

Maybe I'll yell "play some Country of Miracles" or "Strippers" (hah!) at the next Hip show (just like people yell "play some Hip" at each of their solo gigs).
held up a drawing at Gordon Downie's solo show in fredericton, and he was much too modest... he glanced at it for a second (realizing that it said GORDON DOWNIE) and then thanked country of Miracles (must admit, they are very talented). He really is "just a man" even if Mr. Bonner got to spend time with him on stage....*jealousy ensues*.......
Please announce some more dates....with some Buffalo shows!
