daylight Wrote:spottrax Wrote:I shelled out the $$$. Got great seats. Not too many bands I would do that for... but the Hip are worth the $ in my book. Can't wait till July! (man, that is a long way away). My fingers are crossed that we get a little more than just the "hits" for that kind of dough. Also, (i know i am all over the place here) it would be cool if they continue the broken-down acoustic set in the middle of the show... That is simply awesome.
I managed to get some in the fifth row off to the side for $65 each, so I sucked it up and bought them. I'd feel silly if the Hip played in Windsor and I didn't see them. Paying half the price of the centre tickets didn't hurt, either.
aarrrggg yea.... those tix in the middle section where a little steep. Worst thing is.....now I see they are doing Bayfest....might have to hit that too....aaaaarrrrggg.

That would be ridiculous, in a good way!
artpark holds like 4000, harbor holds 6000

Yeah. I'm glad the Windsor pre-sale sold out before I even heard about it (you'd expect emails for show dates), because I might have been compelled to buy tickets at that utterly exorbitant price.
The pre-sale tickets were more expensive than the tickets that went on sale today???? WTF, so I basically paid top price for no reason?? Ugggh. If this was for anyone other than the Hip, I'd be livid. But I'm too excited to be mad. :p
spottrax Wrote:I can say that this was sort of predictable. Even though there is a pretty solid Hip following in South Eastern Michigan, the majority of fans come from the Windsor area (like Hugh said). I am lucky that I actually have a company paid passport that has not been used. I can't think of a better way to break it in than to head to Ontario for a Hip show!!! I can't imagine how cool it will be to hang with a hotel/casino full of Hip fans!!!
With that optimism, I really hope there are no restrictions on how long the band can play. I have heard some real horror stories on other band forums about casino shows (only a hour and a half concert, many seats empty because they are comp seats for casino big shooters, most of the crowd seated....etc.). I really hope this will not be the case. Maybe someone can shed some light on how Caesars Windsor operates.
Regardless......Gonna get my tix saturday!
Unfortunately the horror stories are kind of true. I saw Cheap Trick at Caesars Windsor and, although it was a great concert, everything you said actually happened. It was a really short show and no one stood up the entire time. Cheap Trick sounded great, but yeah the atmosphere kind of sucked. The Hip HAS to be better, right????

Nah, my tickets just aren't as good.

You didn't pay more for Caesars Windsor presale tickets. There is a tiered pricing system where seats closer to front/center are more expensive than those located to the side/back. I received some great tickets through the presale at the 2nd price level. I was ready to pay to get better seats. I imagine a good portion of the best seats were already taken when regular ticket sales started. The less expensive tickets were available because the higher priced ones were already purchased. (ie; you have better seats for your higher ticket price).
Is anyone else from Windsor/Detroit going to the Caesars Windsor & Sarnia Bayfest shows? My wife and I have tickets for both!

Bayfest also has a TEA PARTY reunion. For some reason.

What a 21st birthday present! :jump
That's one thing I miss about living in Buffalo; ridiculously good concerts for ridicously low prices.
in response to the Waterfront holding 6000 and Artpark holding 4000. The Waterfront seem to keep ticket prices as low as possible. 12.50ish. while Artpark would probably be in the $80 range. The Hip really like playing Artpark and its better suited in case of bad weather.(i'm having a flashback to last tour in Rochester and it poured nearly the whole show) It would be better business sense doing Artpark. The Waterfront has announced the schedule for the year and no Hip date is there. on the positive side the rumored date is still open, July 30th. i guess the bottom line is it doesnt matter where they play just as long as they play.
