And to add to my idea, I was thinking that if they went by seniority and gave 2 tickets then the purchaser has to show up for the show that way it would not be used as a way to get great tickets to sell. You know eventually some of the long time fans will not want to go to every show in which case the person under them would get better seats and so on and so on. I mean , really if ya put in the time there should be rewards. Almost like at a unionized job more vacation and such the longer your there and better choices of job postings. Over time the people on the bottom are not always at the bottom, they move up.
For what its worth here are my gusstimates ... small venue (Lee's, Mod Club, Horseshoe!!, Danforth Music Hall ((GA seating)) maybe the Opera House). The Music Hall 2009 ticket pick up process seems reasonable.

Announcement tomorrow on Dean Blundell Show at 8:15 about a concert that will make the summer a lot "hipper", according to Bookie's Twitter feed. So, if there's a fanclub gig, I think it'll be in addition to whatever the Edge is announcing in the AM.
Also, I was forwarded an email from a nameless DJ at the station. There'll be an opener and it'll be "weird but awesome"

Ill pay the extra for VIP so i dont have to put up with the kids who have no clue who the hip are, and end up in a situation like rock the park in London a few years back... worst hip show I ever went too... the band played an amazing set, the crowd full or morons ruined it for me...

Starting Monday February 28th at 11:59pm EST we will be offering you the chance to purchase VIP tickets to the show.
Only registered users of thehip.com as of Sunday February 27 at 11:59pm EST. will have access to these tickets.
The VIP ticket will give you ‘Fast Pass‘ access into the venue, access to the VIP Area with its own cash bar, food vendors and washrooms. The VIP area is 19+ only. There are also a limited number of VIP parking passes available, that will give you access to a separate parking lot. Only one person per car will require a VIP parking pass. You will need to bring photo ID to gain access to the parking lot, as well as the ‘Fast Pass’ entrance.

i for one LOVE the fact that VIP is for registered hip users only and i will definitely be buying those
because the other option is to be stuck with 15000 other "fans"
i imagine the vip area will be small and it sounds like they are not selling VIP to the general public
although not sure what prevents a hip member from buying 20tickets and unloading them on ebay...
so, we have an upfront isolated spot with washrooms/food/beer...that is a deal IMO
well worth the extra cash IMO

Anybody (perhaps Mav if he's around and doesn't mind) have any idea where the VIP area will be? I've been to outdoor shows where the VIP area is pushed off to the side out of the way and others where you can't physically get closer to the stage unless you're in the VIP area (i.e. it's a blocked off area in front of the stage).
