I got 2 tickets in Row 2. Seat 11 & 12. Which part of the stage does that put me? Also, where am I in relation to you?

Edit

for reserved floor seating it looks like there are 5 floor sections (floor 1, floor 2, floor 3, etc). I tried a few times yesterday and today and sometimes I got floor 1, sometimes floor 2 and sometimes floor 5. I bought row 2 in section floor 1. I fear that I'm in one of the smaller sections on the far left or far right of the stage and not in one of the big three middle sections. If this is the case it really pisses me off that presales aren't what they used to be. Fan presales used to be for the fans! So fans could get the best seats to enjoy their favourite artists, not to be stuck on the far side.
Tried to call through for Edmonton Hip tickets on The Bear again this morning. Played Hip or Horse again. These asshats don't know any Hip songs. Springtime in Vienna? Horse. Highway Girl? Horse. Daredevil? Horse. So frustrating to see non-fans getting free tickets. Bah.

I agree. It's kind of shitty not knowing exactly where your seats are going to be, but at least the sound of having row 2 seats is comforting Tongue

We're in the same boat - row and section BobbyP. Regardless - it will be spectacular!
Possibly floor 1 is all 3 front floor sections? The seat numbers just span across the rows?
I just checked Ticketmaster, it doesn't look like Wpg is selling that great opening day. I think between Folk Fest, The Hip playing here four times just under two years ago and their decreasing popularity that there will be a ton of tickets being given away on radio, etc.

It could be due to the fact they are totally killing people on ticket pricing.
Look at Winnipeg $60-$105
"Hey man, did ya hear The Hip are coming to the ballpark?"
"Cool man, I'll hit that show with you, how much cash ya need"
"$200 for you and your girl"
"$200 you say, hmm i am pretty sure i am busy that day, thanks"

I agree tickets are expensive but for Broken Social Scene and Hey Rosetta on the bill too, I think it's worthwhile. I just think that there are a lot of people my age (28) and older that are casual Hip fans that have seen The Hip so many times and aren't familiar with what The Hip done in the past 10 years that they don't go see them every time they come through town now.
I'm as die hard as the next guy, but for Edmonton specifically, from what I have heard the venue isn't great, and for $75.00. I don't think I will be making the trip. Not sure who the target market is, but I can't see alot of long term fans going to this, when we can guess that they will be back in the Fall.

For me it's my first time living in a city, and I'll be sure to drop a couple hundred for multiple theatre dates. But if there's no value I won't go, what do I get for my $75? A greatest hits show, outdoors, in a parking lot, with a chance of rain. I'll take a pass on that, but will be sure to see multiple theatre shows.

They should play small bars like they did when they were shopping around IBE. Instead of outdoor shows.
That show at the Whiskey in Calgary was one for the ages. Small bar, Elbows on stage, cold beer in hand.... aahhh the good ole' days.

Now, if they brought back ARA, or play a festival, that's a different story.

I'm in the same boat. Outdoor shows - especially greatest hits shows, which this will be - no longer appeal to me and certainly not for $75. If I get my hands on free or deeply discounted tickets, I'll go. But, apart from that, I'll save my money for some theatre shows when the new album comes out.

By the way, are you new to Edmonton as well? You said it's your first time in a big city. We just moved here about a year ago. Do you like it? How 'bout that last winter, eh?

Totally agree regarding the ticket pricing. I just checked some of the other shows, and noticed the Sarnia and Bobcaygeon gigs are much cheaper than the Edmonton show. And those shows have arguably better lineups (Sam Roberts, Arkells, Joel Plaskett, etc..). Why are we being forced to pay $75 for Edmonton when those other shows are in the $40-$50 range?? Having said that, I'm probably going to the Edmonton show anyways, mainly because some of my friends have already bought tickets, and it might be the only big concert I get to see this summer. But I'm definitely miffed about the price.
until tickets are $300.00 each i am in !!!!! they have bills to pay also

Somehow, I don't think the members of The Hip and I are in the same tax bracket.

A million people live in the Edmonton area. Less than 100,000 live in Sarnia and Bobcaygeon combined.
