Was an email sent out? I didn't get it. But I did get the previous email saying there'd be an email today. Weird.

All the info is on the website if you log in. They will reveal the password at the time the sale begins.
Ah. Got it. Thank you.
Hmm extended forecast says sunny and 28 degrees, so that's good news.

The big question is what does the extra $75 VIP stuff really include?

Does it get you closer to the stage?
Is the VIP food/drinks/washroom area near the stage?

$75 for "fast access" and a fenced-off section with some port-a-pottys and pizza vendors is a little steep. Must be more to it.
I know someone very close to the organizing of this event and the way the VIP area was framed was that it was basically a slice of land right up in front that's fenced off from the general area. Who knows how much "frontage" this slice of land will have, but I'm sure there'll be plenty of breathing room for those of us who want to be close and still keep our beers from being spilled..

Actually, now that I think about it, maybe the general area won't even allow beers up that close. Maybe the GA people have to go back to some random (and no doubt SUPER busy) licensed area, while the VIPs can drink right up front.
I really wish I knew for sure about the rumored Darien Lake show and the Watertown show. I'm usually not a big festival guy (although Weezer really has me wanting to go).

If I knew those two shows were confirmed, I'd probabl skip the Canada Day show. Anyone have more insight on these dates, other than the email that said more shows would be coming?

Hmm well in that case I'm sold. Ahh who am I kidding - as if I wasn't going to get a pair of tickets anyway...
This will be an epic show!

I'm thinking the same thing for the rest of the summer. I would like to see Weezer and Hey Rosetta! too though... Hopefully MAv can give some insight into this VIP thing (hint hint Wink)

It's always something like this at any outdoor show I've been too

You can confirm that it is up front though? Sorry to be a pain in the ass but I've been to shows before where the "VIP" area is way off to the side and essentially is just an exclusive, glorified beer tent. Thanks MAv!
Anyone else going to get the $30 t shirt and poster bundle with the tickets. And I guess I'll have to wait till Thursday.

this is a good point - i think remeber past events at downsview doing this
For $125 bucks I would hope that there's more to it than just cleaner washrooms and our own food stands.

Still, its the Hip, on Canada Day - that's priceless! :thumb:

Then again, someone just pointed out to me that there may be changes to liquour licenses this summer that would make it easier for an event to have more open licensed areas:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://news.ontario.ca/mag/en/2011/02/province-updating-liquor-laws-1.html">http://news.ontario.ca/mag/en/2011/02/p ... aws-1.html</a><!-- m -->

Tough to know if this will be in effect on July 1st at Downsview or not.
