And I think Mike Tirico does a fantastic job as well. I have no problem whatsoever with him.

I agree, Jaws and Tirico do a great job. I also like Chris Collinsworth as an in studio analyst

:thumb: Me too.

He's probably the best I've ever seen in that role, too. I love the Costas/Collinsworth duo. Could listen to those guys all day....

Costas is a buffoon. He's horrible at every sport that NBC give him to cover. I used to like Collinsworth but I've grown tired of him. He's just like all the rest of the guys to me now, just trying to make a name for themselves instead of sticking to football.

A three time Pro Bowler who is in his 17th year of broadcasting and has won five Emmys is trying to make a name for himself? Uh, yeah.

Confusedhock:

Like him or not, how can you possibly describe Costas as a buffoon?

He's exceedingly artriculate and highly intelligent.....which is quite opposite the definition of that word.

Articulate? Yes. Intelligent? Maybe. Interesting? NO. Knowledgeable about sports? Hell no. He knows players and stats. He doesn't know anything else about sports other than that. He used to tell hour long stories during World Series games that were just awful. Like I said, call the game. The background of the players and stories of the first baseman of him as a ten year old add nothing to the broadcast.

I like quality. 17 years broadcasting means nothing to me. Collinsworth jokes too much and doesn't provide enough quality analysis. That's why he is subpar. Unlike most football viewers, I actually want quality in a broadcaster, not just a distinctive voice. When's the last time Collinsworth broke down a play instead of just giving a general overview? I can't remember.

I wish more people would just read Paul Zimmerman's articles. He's actually honest about his opinions and doesn't kiss ass. He's right on the money most of the time.
this "promising" season for the niners, is falling apart fast..where the fuck is the run blocking?? the "d" is doing everything in its power to win games, and the offense is doing absloute shit....
