Sterlilng Sharpe and the rest of the announcing crew said Buffalo was "heading in the right direction". I think I'll have to use the mute button on my remote control from now on while watching sports. The commentating is beyond belief. If the Bills are heading in the right direction, what would it take for them to be heading in the wrong direction? I guess the Texans and NY Jets are heading in the right direction also. How can you go from being within a game of making the playoffs to winning 4 games the next season and be "heading in the right direction"?

Manning had an off game. The Colts lost. This might be a blessing in disguise. Now they can regroup and not worry about whether or not to keep starters in, if that's something that worry about anyway. They still will have homefield in the playoffs.

The crew doing that Broncos/Bills game was horrible. I think Sterling Sharpe said roughly 8,000 times that to make the Super Bowl, you need to be able to run the ball. I was waiting for him to tell me that water tends to be wet and it is generally cold in the north this time of year.

Green Bay

9 right so far, thats not too bad, if Green Bay and Chicago win Ill be 11-5, I'd be happy with that. I had some close calls too, SF and Oakland games were close, I dont know why I took St.Louis..oh well. I like this idea, next year we have to do this right from the get go and crown a Hipbase NFL champ!

Each week (including playoffs) we should simply predict our picks for all the games, and then we will simply keep the record. Here are all the matchups, followed by my picks (appearing in bold) (and this could be fun, so participate!)

Hey, can I play now that I know the outcomes of almost all the games?

That Indy-SD game was great, one of the best games of the season. The Chargers had their season on the line and played like it, they were so pumped. The Colts started slow, but woke up and started to match the Chargers' intensity, and almost pulled it out at the end. San Diego is one heck of a good team, but have lost some strange ones, so they might not even make the playoffs... but if they get in, I don't think anyone would want to play them!

I think Indy had an off game. It's bound to happen. I still thought after they took the lead that they would win, but I was wrong. San Diego took back the momentum after that.

San Diego is a very good team. The only thing is they aren't tested in the playoffs and Marty Schottenheimer always seem to just do enough to lose in the playoffs. I don't see San Diego advancing very far if they make it.

I'd still say Indy can rev it up and play better than they did today. I'd say the Patriots scare the hell out of all playoff teams with the way they've been playing and their aura. I can't really see any AFC team other than Indy or NE making it to the Super Bowl. Jake Plummer is no John Elway. Tongue

In the NFC, i don't know who to pick. I'm watching Chicago on tv now and they have an incredible defense but don't really have an offense. Carolina have been way too inconsistent this season, especially Delhomme, but I've seen Delhomme play brilliantly against the Pats a few years ago so I wouldn't be shocked to see them make it. I'm not sold on the Giants or Seahawks.
Yeah, Indy's still the best. They have home field, they have it all. They'll regroup, improve their play, and be ready to go. The Patriots have definitely picked it up as of late, but I still don't see them going too far... they might win the first-round playoff game because they'll be at home, but that's it.

The NFC is tough to figure out... teams like Chicago, Carolina, Tampa Bay, etc. look great one week and then look like crap the next (or vice-versa). Seattle actually has been winning consistently, and while they are probably a wild-card team at best in the AFC, I think they're the best of a relatively bad NFC lot.
GO PANTHERS!!!

I'm not sold on the Giants or Seahawks.

How can you not be sold on the Seahawks? The Giants are shaky... from one week to the next they look like completely different teams. And Eli is just like his brother - he can't handle big games.

Seattle is an amazing team though. Shaun Alexander has the ability to win games all on his own. You also have Hasselbeck who is an above-average QB. To top it off, their D is above-average as well.... they are going to make a run.

New England are still just as dangerous as ever, they might not be having as a good a season as they could've, but they can beat any team in the NFL, on any night, in any stadium, IMO, and that's coming from someone who hates their guts.

personally, i'm not too crazy about any of the teams that look playoff bound, but if i had to pick one that i actually wanted to win the Superbowl, i'd take the Steelers...just because they'd have to be a wild card, and go through the Colts.

Firstly, when have I heard this before about Alexander and the Seahawks? Tell me what the hell they've done in the playoffs. They haven't proven anything yet. You say Manning chokes in the playoffs. You think Hasselbeck is a saviour and will lead the Hawks???

Seattle played SF TWICE, Arizona TWICE, St Louis TWICE. That should be a guaranteed 5 wins at least. What great win have they had this season? They lost to the Jags. They lost to the Skins. The Cowboys have Drew Deadsoe at QB and aren't that good. They beat the Giants because Feely missed about 8 straght field goals. ......

We'll see come playoff time. I'll admit I was wrong about them if they make the SB. Until then, the Seahawks are the same old team to me. They're going nowhwere.
any seahawks paraphernalia should come with a choking hazard... Tongue

no matter who they play first in the playoffs, they'll lose!!
