I have been wondering if The Tragically Hip will do any web based distribution for the new album. With the recent financial successes of Radiohead, NIN and soon R.E.M. perhaps The Hip could be next.
What other band is so perfectly positioned to supply fans with unique material via the web? Rare songs, live material, MAverics behind the scenes footage, alternate mixes, art and interviews.
All that and the new album could be offered online in addition to the commercial available compact disk. The Hips sales numbers are off anyways because all the Americans rush out and purchase the Canadian release. Perhaps this could satisfy the Yanks until the domestic release and improve the overall sales numbers.
didn't they do something like that for music @work? I seem to remember releasing a song a day on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday maybe two weeks or so of the June release of the album.

They are recording right now.
Well I just got my email. Really glad Bob Rock is back. World Container is such a great album. So they are currently recording and playing some shows. They never stop working huh?
If I could make one suggestion the Hip. Bring your light show on the US tour this time. Please

Say what you want about Bob Rock, but he saved them from stagnation. Remember the "break" they were supposedly about to take?
