well its spring time again and another season of baseball has begun. I figured since there was an NFL & NHL thread throughout the season, why not make one for baseball? i'm sure it won't be as popular as the other two but i decided to make one anyways.

GO JAYS GO!!!! :thumb:

I'm glad there's a new thread. Good work, th420.

I don't want the official baseball thread we post in all year to be titled "Baseball & whatever else TDC wants to talk about" .

Screw that. Baseball and nothing else, especially not whatever Captain Frontrunner wants to talk about!
God I love baseball season.

After yesterday's thriller in Chicago - I'm falling all over myself with excitement for tomorrow's opening day in Cleveland. My wife and I and 4 close friends are all heading up to soak it in. Think warm thoughts for me - the forecast is saying low 30s with medium wind - and when the wind is coming off the lake...goo! It's going to be a cold one! Go Tribe!
I agree Horrible, althoughI haven't quite shifted into baseball mode yet, if the Habs miss the playoffs Ill be all ball from here out. Until then the avatar and my focus remains the same...

That said, its nice to have baseball back, my love for the game grows more every year. A nice win by my Sox last nite, sure the Royals are crap but the team looked good, the bats were very active. Im looking forward to Dice-K's debut today, I hope he tears em apart. Until batters figure him out I think he'll be hard to read, I see him going the distance today.

GO SOX!!
damn jays game was postponed today. i was looking forward to killing a 12 pack and watching it.
we all know america's national sport is baseball just likes Canada's is hockey. so i'm sure we'll see alot of posts from american hipbasers. so what is everyones favourite team and early predictions?

my favourite AL team is obviously the jays. i like the pirates in the NL. i don';t know why i like the pirates, i just do. yeah i know they suck but their off to a 3-0 start! my early prediction is the NY Mets go all the way.

but still.... GO JAYS GO!!!! :rambo:
Excellent debut by the Dice-K:

7.0IP 6H 1R 1ER 1BB 10SO 1HR 1.29ERA

His stuff was good today, I only expect him to get better...watch out!

:rambo:
my favorite team is the blue jays went to one of the first games ever back in the day with my grandfather. national league team is the mets because i played a season 2k5 for playstation 2

Baseball is our "traditional" national sport, but I think football is been King for awhile now in terms of viewership & popularity....but to me, there simply is no greater game than BASEBALL (use a James Earl Jones head-voice when reading that).

The Cincinnati Reds are my lifelong favorite team.

Predictions:

NL EAST: Mets
NL CENTRAL: Brewers (yep - going out on a limb here, but MIL has a fearsome lineup)
NL WEST: Padres

NL CHAMPS: Mets

AL EAST: Red Sox
AL CENTRAL: Twins
AL WEST: Angels

AL CHAMPS: Twins

WORLD CHAMPS: Mets

Go Tribe!

C'mon Hernandez! WISE UP!

Way to go Grady! Three homers in three games. Nice way to start the season! :thumb:

Would have been nice to get the sweep but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I can't believe that Hernandez tried to pick that guy off at second - what are the odds that you are actually pick him off versus throw the ball into center? In my experience, I would say its much more likely that it goes into center. Oh well...still won the series.

Yep, still a good start to the season. That Sowers, boy, he's great. If only Sabathia would have his consistency.
Yay steroids!!!!!! Tongue

I just got back from the game. Dice-K is the real deal. Will be interesting to see if hitters can start to figure him out after seeing him a few times.

Greinke won't get the hype, and that's fine, but he had just as nice of a start:
7.0IP 8H 2R 1ER 1BB 7SO 1.29ERA

Hoping the Royals can surprise a bit this year, but that's tough to do in the AL Central.
