For me the intro to Nautical has a very hypnotic effect (pardon the pun). Everytime I hear those first few notes, it's as if the world around ceases to exist, and for the next four and a half minutes all that matters is sitting back and taking in musical perfection at its finest. I can only think of a couple other songs that consistently get to me in the same way: Zeppelin's Over the Hills and Far Away, and the Brain Damage + Eclipse combo that closes Dark Side of the Moon.

I've just gotten addicted to Emperor Penguin, and the bridge in it is fantastic.

The "You'd be tossed up or washed up..." part. ESPECIALLY the last two lines of it, with the backup vocals. I can listen to that part over and over and not get tired of it.

Oh man, I've got so many of those moments. I couldn't possibly list them all! But here are a few:

"Off the coat of France, dear..." Just before everything kicks in during Nautical Disaster.

I also love the bridge to Emergency, "Until it's no longer fun, to that's no longer relevant..."

La, la, la, la, la, la, ect ... during Music At Work is always great as well.

As for guitar, I love the guitar during the chorus to At The Hundredth Meridian. I'd never really noticed it until reccently, though. Also, lead guitar through World Contain really gets me. It makes it such a powerful song.

I love in Yer Not the Ocean when the piano kicks in towards the end. Everything else goes a little quiet and the piano comes in very hauntingly.

Bring it All Back has a great intor that gets me every time.

And alos, "you yelled in my ear this music speaks to me..."

Ultra Mundane - ".. like a sneeze in a motorcycle helmet.."

World Container - "when the world quits on you, it must be dinner and the Himmler on this one is, there’s no dessert"

Thugs - "hairbird plucks a hair from a sleeping dog to build her nest she said i've looked around and i like your hair the best"

And the most chilling

and nothing else" - The drop off

Ohhhh man there are so many! I could do this all day!

A couple:

Smalltown Bringdown: The second chorus, "just another, small town, hometown, bringdown" and bobby launches into his solo (he was still "bobby" then :wink

Blow at High Dough: Anytime live in the last few years, the very last "when you BLOOOOOW!... at high dough"

Silver Jet: "fought the hotspurs off, all the way to Cape Spear!"

Get Back Again: The last chorus where Gord really puts some juice into it: "All the time, that I thought was my friend, we'll be alright til we get back again"

Highway Girl: I said, "Don't you think babe, you push a bit too fast?"

There are so many others...

I agree with Audra- got chills just reading hers!

The way he sings (or pronounces) 'Shadows' in the chorus of 'Youre Everything' completely makes the song for me.

Oh, I agree. I love Springtime, start to finish.

I love Rob's solo in Dire Wolf too. When I got IVL, I kept hitting repeat on that song.

Such an amazing song...gives me goose bumps everytime! :thumb:

Then there's Fiddlers Green, such a beautiful sad song. When they played it live in Toronto it gave me tears.
