Moosehead Wrote:Starting to wonder if the album will be selling out on the first day. I normally don't pre-order because it's easier to stop by a store than deal with shipping.
It might. In the last week, people have been buying all the older albums:

Canadian sales of the Canadian rock band's album catalog grew from 340 copies sold in the previous week to 5,200 in the week ending May 26 -- a jump of more than 1,300 percent -- according to Nielsen Music.

I wouldn't worry about it. All the fairweather fans are talking about the tour.

All us hardcores are talking about the album.

I think it will be fine.
17 Days BTW!

Hoping we get to hear it streaming on thehip.com or exclaim or something beforehand!
My birthday is June 14 and the media keeps on saying the release date is THAT day..Its not, as we know..but what a horrible fake bday tease this is.
17 days, can't wait.
By the way...I will be, 38 years old
I'm listening to the album now. I've never been more excited/tense to hear a new Hip rec. All I can say right now is how lush a record it is.

Will report back with more thoughts tonight.

I'm so excited for this album - I have very vivid memories of the first time I listened to each album. Will probably wait until the kids are in bed, put on some headphones and crank it up.

I love the first two tracks - TaF is not what I was expecting but is really interesting and I'm very excited to hear the rest.

Dude????? Your Killing me, give us something Confusedhock: this is inhumane Smile
Spoilers ahead...

Forgive me for being a bit vague, don't want to give away specifics.

First things first, I can't believe that this is the same group of musicians that wrote songs like Courage or NOIS. After spinning this a few times, it obviously has a serious emotional resonance but these are the types of songs that would strike an emotional chord regardless. There isn't anything in the way of "Bangers" on the record. A song like At Transformation, which is only off their last record, sounds like some sort of heavy metal, sonic implosion compared to the overall vibe of MMP.

In short, these are small songs that make a big, big impact. I woke up humming the whole record, somehow.

For that very reason, this is one of the more cohesive Hip records, sonically speaking, in recent memory. There is a very clear purpose with this record and I have to think whatever goals they set out were achieved.

As mentioned on World Possessed, Kevin Drew's fingerprints are all over this record. So many of the songs grow into spacious, sprawling numbers a la BSS.

Vibe? Dusk on a Sunday.
