I got 4 tickets for the Kitchener show within the first 10 rows,
also got 4 tickets for the Oshawa show within first 10 rows,
to bad I could not get 2 tickets to the Guelph show. I just looked on
some ticket selling sights and they are asking double price for good seats.
I guess we will just be going to the kitchener and oshawa shows.
$80 ($97 after fees / tax) for tickets to the moncton show
tickets for springsteen in ottawa last night $115 ($129 after fees)
$32 more for springsteen. and you are guaranteed to get more than a few rarities, requests, etc and a 3+ hour show. with the hip you will get 2 hours and the same songs they always play.
the hip need to wake up.
and bruce is almost 20 years older than them!

I am not even a Bruce "Fan" and his show 2 years ago may have been the best concert I have ever seen. Amazing.
I can't believe how many tickets are available for Winnipeg and Toronto still (those are the only shows I checked, but it sounds like the other Ontario shows are selling well). I was talking to my buddy about this and I think it's a combination of the price and the fact that they place these cities all the time. For the World Container show in Winnipeg though the review said 11,500. For the show at Shaw Park last summer official attendance was 11,000 but you could get tickets dirt cheap the weak leading up to the show (like $10 cheap). I think here in Winnipeg that free show at the Forks 12 yrs ago and the four shows at the Concert Hall in '09 satisfied a lot of the people that only need to see them once.
Seriously though, look at all the good seats on Ticketmaster for these two shows. When has this ever happened before?
I think that they should be releasing a couple more songs off Now For Plan A as singles, the radio station here in Cambridge only plays At Transformation, I asked them to play Now For Plan A or Done and Done, but they did not. People who used to love the Hip but have not bothered with them since the last few albums will see this as just another album with not much to offer because the radio stations are not showcasing the album. The damn station here will play any old Hip song off anything from the the 1980s, 1990s and a couple early 2000 songs but wont play anything off of World Container, We Are The Same . They just keep playing the old radio hits, so how is the band supposed to get a new audience or win back some fans with just one song, with all of the fanatics saying the albums great. As for the big cities not selling a lot, well, Toronto is surrounded by Oshawa to the east, Guelph to the North West and Kitchener to the west, so no need for out of towners to go to Toronto, this just shows that their fan base is spread wide and not just the big cities.
On a better note, For the Oshawa show my wife and I are taking 2 friends who have never seen the Hip live but love the radio songs. They are so excited, I am too, just thinking of seeing them be amazed at what they have been missing.
I cant stand going to Toronto and dealing with that traffic, then paying $20 to $30 to park and paying way to much for a drink or some other thing. We are skipping the Toronto show and going to Oshawa instead. The ACC is such a cold inhospitable place all geared to screwing people for as much money as they can for the MLSE.

I'm pretty sure a LOT of winnipeggers were soured after the Shaw Park bait & switch seating fiasco...
Live in Saskatoon, instead of Regina (or maybe in addition to) a buddy and I going to head to Billings to see the show, 750 seat theater will be sweet. Good ticket prices and seats, cheap hotel, looks like some nice bars etc down there. PM me if you have any questions about hotels, getting good tickets, etc. Maybe even carpool?
I'm just happy for the Detroit show next month, 50$ after service fees for GA floors....woulda paid to see them here in London too, but I have zero interest in paying big $$$ to see them in Kitchener or Guelph. I'm sure everyone will enjoy their shows!
If we're looking for a silver lining where price is concerned: all floor/lower bowl seats for the Stones' upcoming shows in New Jersey cost $750.

$1,000 gets you a dinner date with the headstones if we're talking value for your money that's pretty sweet!
